The Honda Pilot is a very well-built SUV. It has a lot of room for hauling. It was used when I bought the vehicle, and the inside seating and upholstery was in very good shape and still is to this day. I have had the vehicle for over a year now. It has DVD player in the car which comes to good use when you have kids, especially going on vacations and long trip drives. The CD/DVD/radio is very easy to use. The vehicle also has a back-up camera in the rearview mirror which is also great because it helps to make sure nothing or anyone is in the way; it covers blind spots. It has charging ports in the back of the vehicle for all people to be able to charge their device. The Pilot also has 3rd-row seating, so it will sit up to 8 people, so it's great for large families. The console holds a ... (more)
Story
If I have to go on a small trip to town, well, even if it's only five minutes... the kids still have to watch a movie on the way. I probably switch the movie out every two seconds.
Pros
Top positives about this vehicle is how well it has held up with the inside. I haven't had any issues with the motor at all. My favorite features of the pilot are the back up camera, DVD/CD/radio for entertainment for the kids and even adults. I'm the kind of person that hates pumping gas so it is also nice to have the millage shown to let me know when I absolutely have to stop and get gas. The car showing also which tire on the vehicle is low is a really good feature. Having multiple charging options in the vehicle is a plus. The sun roof is always nice during the summer months when you c... (more)
Cons
A few negatives about this vehicle is how loud the sound of driving is inside the vehicle. Also, it is noisy with the air conditioner and heat on. Another negative about this vehicle is that when I only want the window down just a few inches, the window has the auto that makes the window go all the way down. It makes it hard to just go a few inches. Having the third row is great, but I hate that if you have multiple infant car seats in the front and if it's on the seat that lets down for the people in the third row to get out, you have to take the car seat out to be able to let them out.

2011 Honda Pilot - Overall great car. Lots of space with a rugged, sporty look.

Overall, the 2011 Honda Pilot is a great car. I own the touring version which is the highest level model. We were looking for an alternative to a minivan that could accommodate a family but also provide a more sporty look. The Pilot accomplished all of this. It has enough space to fit seven while also being quite "boxy" giving you the sporty SUV look. The vehicle has had very few problems and is currently at about 150K miles. There are a few things that I disliked—for one, while it does fit seven, the back row is quite tight and really can only fit children for long road trips or else you will run into some serious uncomfortable leg room issues. Another issue is that it is not as friendly as one would expect on gas mileage. I was hoping for a little more than ten miles per gallon.
Story
We drove this vehicle down the East Coast while visiting universities, through pouring rain, glorious sunshine, you name it. It held up great. There was one night where the entire family took a nap in the car, and the space allowed us to be quite comfortable. The kids were able to watch movies on the built-in screen in the back row (we have the touring model, which comes with this). We will ne... (more)
Pros
The pros are that the car provides a great look while also being practical (holds seven people. No problem for fishing trips, etc.). We've used the car to tow a small trailer, and there hasn't been any problems either. In addition, the interior is nice and spacious (sans the back row). The back window is able to open which allows easy access to things like skis, fishing rods, etc.
Cons
The mileage of the car could've been a little better, considering this isn't a huge SUV (akin to something like the Toyota Sequoia, Nissan Armada, etc.). Furthermore, while the car does technically fit seven people, the last row has very little leg room and can only realistically hold children for long trips. A minivan would be more practical if you wanted to go on a long road trip with seven adults.
