2008 Hyundai Elantra - This model saved me in an accident
Before this car, I had a red 2006 Hyundai Elantra. After owning it for two years, I was in a accident that was no fault of my own. My light was green and driving through a intersection. When I was struck by another car turning on the opposite side from the left turn lane. I passed out during the accident, but when I woke up my car was pushed 90 degrees and two lanes over. I walked away from the accident with only a broken arm. They other driver was in the hospital for a while. After the accident I bought a newer model of the same car. To me it had proven its self as a reliable and safe car. I have now owned the car for 10 years. I has been a very reliable car. It has some wear and tear with the windows. But the engine runs great. The brakes can be very touchy, but that can be learned a... (more)
Story
My sister was about to start college at Calpoly near LA. I had to help her move to her new apartment. She drove a 1990 Corolla that has been in the family for decades, and I drove my Elantra. We were surprised on how much stuff we could fit in my car. From the outside it looks small, but on the inside, it has a lot of room. It was an adventure driving form San Diego to LA.
Pros
Safety features in the car. Reliability of the car. The warranty featured with the car.
Cons
Windows wear and tear over the years. Brake touchiness take a while to get used to. Takes a while to get up to speed.
2003 Hyundai Elantra - A Pleasant Experience
The Hyundai Elantra is an affordable, sleek vehicle with power steering and power brakes.
It has 38 miles to the gallon, enough for those back-and-forth trips across town.
Seating is comfortable, soft and easy to fit into.
Most of all, it comes equipped with a standard air conditioner and superior stereo sound for the long trips ahead.
It's everything you want in a Hyundai, plus a bit more for an affordable price!
Story
I drove the Elantra from San Diego to L.A. without any problems. I had an enjoyable time driving it up the coast and after I made it back home, I could have driven another fifty miles. It was that good an experience.
Pros
It rides smooth and is a pleasure to drive. Even after a long vacation on the road, it's standard engine makes climbing up a hill easy with no problems.
It seats four, or five depending on the passengers. Every seat is comfortable and easy for the long trip.
The stereo system is clear and whether you have a CD player or MP3 player, you can hear every song loud and clear.
The Elantra's standard engine gives you that pick up you need when driving in traffic, especially on freeways. It's also quiet
There's enough trunk space to fit even your largest suitcases and tote bags.
Cons
The Elantra doesn't work well with normal unleaded gasoline. You might need a higher grade for it to drive efficiently.
On steep hills, it doesn't give you the pick up you need to make that climb all because of the engine, which acts like a V6, but is only a four cylinder with horsepower.
The headlights don't work as well in a dark, secluded area. There are times when their high beams might be used.
Their seats have a tendency to wear out quickly if you've owned it for several years.
