2006 Hyundai Santa Fe - Overall this vehicle has served me very well.
This car was my first SUV. I love being higher up as it helps with visibility and feeling more safe than in previous sedans that I've driven. It is a well-built car that has served me very well in the 7+ years that I've owned it. If it wasn't for the less-than-stellar gas mileage I would love to upgrade to a newer model.
Story
On a road trip to Connecticut my husband and I recorded the odometer changing from 99,999 miles to 100,000 miles, except I started recording too soon and it was a full minute of the odometer at 99,999 until it finally changed over to 100,000 and we shouted "HOORAY!"
Pros
I am very satisfied with the cars ability to accelerate quickly, especially when I am trying to merge onto a highway. I've always felt very safe in this car. The interior is a light grey colored cloth and it rarely looks dirty on the inside, which is a plus because I have a dog who sheds and it's not very visible in the car. Even though it's an SUV it's not a bulky SUV and I find it very easy to navigate and to parallel park.
Cons
Fairly early on in my ownership the paint on the car began to chip around the outside mirrors. My biggest complaint about the SUV is that it guzzles gas when you're city driving. On the highway the gas mileage is decent, but it's not a car that does well with stopping and going.
2001 Hyundai Santa Fe - Nothing but problems.
I loved this vehicle when I first got it. After about 2 weeks of paying on it I started having issues. First problem was I had my speed sensors go out which are not a cheap fix. So until I did get it fixed my car would jump and not shift. Then came the axles and the tie rods. They snapped as I was going down the interstate. I think they're very poorly built but the exterior is good. They're very expensive to fix and it is never just 1 thing.
Story
We used to take the car up to Parker Dam in DuBois, PA and the one time we went my 5 year old and I stopped to take pictures of a mama bear and her 2 cubs that were crossing the road.
Pros
I like that the exterior is very heavily built. I like that it has a dual transmission so I can choose to drive it as an automatic or manual as I choose. I also like that it has fold down seats cause I can fit just about anything back there.
Cons
I think that the top negatives about this vehicle are that it breaks down so easy. No matter how much maintenance you keep up on it still has problems. When I fixed both shift sensors the new ones only lasted about 2 months.

2013 Hyundai Elantra - Colonial Hyundai Downingtown
They did not try to push me to purchase something that I could not afford. I went into the dealership with a number in mind and they were able to work within my budget to find a car for me.
2005 Hyundai Santa Fe - Faulkner Hyundai Harrisburg
It was the closest Hyundai dealership to me when I lived in Harrisburg, PA. The next closest one was approximately 30 miles away. Plus, I was able to completely find exactly the make, model, accessories, and the color of the vehicle I wanted via e-mail.
