I bought this car used from my sister in 2004. I have approximately 119,500 miles on it. I am embarrassed to say that I just got an oil change a couple of months ago. So that would mean I drove it for 10 years on the same oil with no problems! It is excellent on gas mileage and according to OnStar I am currently getting 31mpg! Also impressive! I have had to have the clutch and starter replaced but so far not the brakes and the heater works great! A few things I definitely dislike about the car is the hardware does NOT last. I have had to replace interior and exterior, my drivers side window will not go down, my visor is broke as well as other interior items such as cup holder, radio knobs, etc. The trunk latch is broke as well.
Story
One time, I had illegally blocked a drive way so a cop comes into the local pub asking me to move it. I said heck no, you move it. So as she goes to open my driver's side door, I said oops, the handle is broke so she had to crawl in the passenger side. Everyone was laughing at her. I'm lucky she didn't have it towed! So after that a friend of mine rigged it with some special string that bolted... (more)
Pros
I think the gas mileage is excellent. It does not require too much maintenance. Believe it or not it is roomy enough in the trunk area to pack a whole stash of camping gear and the seat folds down so it can hold even more!
Cons
The fact that annoying things break like the door latches and the fact my window does not go down. Living where I live it gets pretty hot and the AC does not work so well so it is a sweat box in the summer.

Vehicle gets good mileage, and I do not need to refill on gas as much as other cars I have had in the past. I like how it is compact but still fits four people relatively comfortably. Its small size is both a pro and a con. It is also relatively affordable, but I think it could be cheaper. The hatchback feature is nice and compact but does not offer much storage space in the trunk. It drives well and is easy to handle.
Story
Driving from Pennsylvania to Florida several times, and road trips with my significant other are always fun.
Pros
Car gets good mileage, is good for long drives and city driving as well. It handles well and is easy to drive. It is a relatively affordable option. Its small size makes it great for city driving and parking. I like how the car looks as well, it is cute! It is perfect for a single person or a couple.
Cons
Technology not as updated as some cars are. It could use better technology, like a rear camera like most cars have now, and more digital features. Free satellite radio would be nice as well. Seats are not very comfortable for long drives and people of a bigger body size. It could be bigger, middle console could be bigger, and there is only one arm rest for the driver, no armrest for the passenger. Trunk could be bigger. It probably would not be the best option for a family due to its small size.

Since they only sell Hyundais, they were very knowledgeable about the cars. Answered all my questions about the pros and cons of different cars. Allowed me to test drive several cars for comparison. Only offered me cars that were within the original price range I set.

It was the most local Hyundai dealership to where I lived. Plus, I communicated to the dealership directly via e-mail asking for a specific color and we went from there on what they had available for the Santa Fe. The trade-in value they gave for my older car was a reasonable price, especially since it was not running.
