rides nice, lasts forever, looks great
The Sonata is extremely dependable. It rides very nicely and has many great features - leather interior, adjustable seat belts, double console storage plus storage under the dash, on the front car doors and behind the front seats. A V-6 engine gives good power while still being easy on gas. Traction control system, lighted mirrors on both sun visors, and an electronic moon roof that either slides all the way open or tilts up. It has spacious trunk space, with the ability to fold down the back seats for additional storage space. Power seats make it easy to adjust. Adjustable head rest, tilt steering wheel and cruise control are just some of the great features. Intermittent wipers are nice for those misty days, and how can anyone do without rear window defoggers? Another great feature is the power controlled side mirrors, easily adjusted from buttons on the driver door. Idiot alarms are always a necessity for me, and this one has them for when I've left the lights on or the keys in the ignition or forgotten to fasten my seat belt. For small children, the capacity to child-lock the rear doors and lock the windows from the driver's seat is especially appreciated.

Hyundai Sonata -- better than average.
I like that it has a built-in 'low air in tire' warning system, though I think that was not on purpose, but the traction control system flags when the air is too low. Overall, the car is quite good, better than average though not as good as a Toyota. I don't like that the undercarriage wasn't rust proofed, and one of my first major repairs was only a few months after purchase when I had to replace the entire brake line system as the lack of coating caused it to rust thru -- that could have been potentially dangerous had I not paid attention to the brake warning lights. I also don't like that there is an apparent short in the door lock electrical systems as every time it rains or gets too cold, the doors automatically lock and the one rear door doesn't respond to signals at all nor does it have a key making it most inconvenient to twist around to fix it. The car handles fabulously and has good pickup -- a vast improvement from my former four cylinder. The leather interior is very nice, and it has many hidden compartments. The windows defrost fairly quickly. Overall, the car has been very reliable and cheap to run.

Great for the price.
It's not a muscle car, and it's not a luxury sedan, but it can get you where you're going and do it with most of the modern luxuries that make life behind the wheel easier. I'm an audio guy, so I was very happy to see the Dimension audio package, small sub woofer, and the large touchscreen head unit with navigation already installed from the factory. The drive is smooth. The car really is a great value for what they sell for. I would say to look up the VIN number and recalls, as many of these models (not mine, thankfully) need to have the engine replaced by the dealership before 125k miles.
