Overall, the Sonata is a low-priced, reliable family car. I have owned this car for two years now and it has given me nothing but an enjoyable experience overall. Other cars in the market tend to offer less for more, and it seems that this car is overlooked more than it should be. I would highly recommend this car, as its low price and decent quality make it a great overall buy for almost any family.
Story
I have taken quiet a few road trips so far in my Sonata, and every time we try to fit more and more stuff into it since we always try to prepare for anything. So far, it has always had more than enough space for our family of three, and sometimes with room to spare!
Pros
The Sonata I own gets 35 mpg highway, and 32 mpg city with a 186 horsepower four cylinder engine. The exterior design is appealing, and I do think the design stands out in among the other cars in the market today. It has a spacious and relatively quiet interior, and can easily seat up to five adults. The interior design is also well thought out, with plenty of cup holders and a great stereo. In addition, ride quality is smooth and not too firm over regular, as well as rougher, terrain.
Cons
Although the seats in the Sonata are durable, they are not very comfortable, and after a long trip can really take a toll on the passengers. Also, the four cylinder engine's acceleration is pretty lackluster, and merging or overtaking requires some effort. In addition, the transmission is another slight problem, as shifts are not as crispy as desired and take a little preparation under hard acceleration.

2016 Hyundai Sonata - Great for the price.

I love my new Sonata. It is very spacious all around the car -- lots of head and leg room for passengers and driver. The color is very beautiful, and the look of the car is also very nice. I like the car particularly for the interior color, and I also like the sport mode in the car. When I use sport mode, it turns my car into a race car for those moments when you need to get somewhere fast. Some things that could be improved is a better sound system.
Story
The sport mode makes it feel like a race car. When I was on the freeway with no traffic, I started the sport mode just because I could get to my destination much faster, so I used it for a great period of time. I was happy to say the car responded very nicely. It took off like a rocket. The handling was very great. It responded to my foot on the gas with no issues.
Pros
The sport mode is very cool, lots of room -- for both head and legs.
Cons
The sound system could be better and some navigation would be nice as well.

I didn't have to haggle to get a great price. The salesmen were friendly and didn't make me, a young, female driver, feel uncomfortable.
