This Car Rocks
I had seen the commercials for the Kia Soul featuring the giant gerbils and was immediately attracted to the vehicle. It seemed fun, sporty and a pleasure to drive. After owning one for nearly a year now I can say that all of those things are true – even though I’m not a gerbil.
Our 2013 Soul is the base model, reasonably priced yet fully equipped. It has power windows and door locks, a very capable stereo including Sirius XM satellite radio and an excellent climate control system. The fit and finish of the vehicle is excellent, and the overall look of the car is very eye-catching. There is more than enough room in the interior and hatchback area to take care of anything we need to transport, and the rear seats fold down in order to create even more space.
The Soul gets excellent gas mileage – about 27 MPG in the city, and I’ve recorded 36 MPG while traveling on the highway. It is extremely easy to handle and can fit into the tightest parking spaces. The mirrors are wisely arranged so that I can see all around without strain or effort. It’s quick enough for me – not a speed demon but I never feel like there isn’t enough power to handle most road situations. The feel is sporty – a bit tight and bouncy over rough roads but otherwise very smooth. In the year we’ve owned it I’ve never noted a buzz or rattle – this is a tight, well-made car, one I would recommend to anyone who needs a compact, versatile vehicle for in-town use.

A Great Big Little Car
We've owned our 2013 Kia Soul for about a year and a half now, and our opinion hasn't changed from the very first day we've owned it. We love this car. It's fun and easy to drive, and gives lots of bang for the buck. You can park it on a dime, maneuver it through the thickest traffic, and do it all at 30 miles per gallon and in adequate comfort. We do almost all of our driving in the city and find that it's an excellent metro car. It's easy to get in and out of, which is becoming increasingly important as we age, and as we take our aged parents and friends to doctors appointments and such. This past winter we had a stretch of extremely cold winter - I distinctly recall seeing -26 on the dashboard thermometer - yet our Soul started on the first turn of the key. It didn't get very warm, admittedly, but it did keep on going through the worst of the Arctic Vortex. The climate control is good in hot weather, too. So anyone looking for a fun to drive, economical and comfortable car should check out the Kia Soul.

Perfect for an older couple
We love our Soul. It's exactly the right size for the two of us, and is easy to get in and out of. This is becoming increasingly important as my joints stiffen and it gets harder to bend. Our Soul has the perfect combination of cargo capacity, fuel economy and ease of use. It's one of the easiest cars to park that I've ever owned, and it has adequate power to handle highway driving. It gets around 30 miles per gallon in the city, and nearly 40 on the highway. It's comfortable and surprisingly well equipped for the price we paid. I never thought I'd like a car with power windows and door locks but the Soul has made me a believer. About the only negative I can think of is that the suspension is pretty tight and rather bouncy. Other than that, I'd recommend the Kia Soul to anyone, particularly people who have trouble getting in and out of vehicles.
