I bought the 2004 Aviator brand new, almost two years ago. It has been the most reliable of any car I've ever had (and I've had many). It feels luxurious on the inside, even after all of this time. Lincoln got the fit/finish on this one right. It has been such a gem to own. I will drive it until it dies. I really wish Lincoln still made them. I would buy another after this one is done. That's how much I love it. I've owned many other SUVs and never had one this dreamy and reliable. Can't say enough good stuff about it.
Story
I didn't know how to park it on my block. The parks in my area are very tight and small, and since the car is big and a 2004, it doesn't have a rear view camera. It only has a back-up sensory when you get to close to the car behind you which isn't much help but it's better then nothing.
Pros
When I first saw this vehicle, I liked it right off the bat. The amazing exterior design of this SUV caught my eye in an instant. I drive this car every day, and it never fails to impress me. The 302 horsepower really gives you power and makes you feel like you are driving a sports car. With this SUV you get the best of both worlds. You get the features of a luxury SUV and the features of a sports car with its amazing handling.
Cons
When I bought it I was impressed with the styling more then anything else, but that quickly faded when the mechanical problems started soon after. I kept up on all required maintenance since I bought it. The problems started early on. From the climate control to the spark plug coils going out on me continuously. The gear shift leaver broke when I was putting it into park from drive. On the back tail gate there is a crack right below the back widow. I was told that it is a trend on these vehicles. I will never own another Ford/Lincoln product as long as I live.

I really like this car because it is very comfortable and roomy. The design is stylish and not too elegant. I like that the color is bright, almost sparkly. The seats are able to be adjusted to your liking, including lumbar support. All the accessories are electronic and I did not have a problem figuring out how to turn things on and off. There is power controls on the steering wheel so when I am driving it is very easy to adjust the air conditioning and radio volume. There is a lot of storage. There is storage on all the doors, a large compartment in the front, and a large compartment in the second row seating. The seats are very easy to let up to make room in the back for large items to be transported. The driving is smooth and does not feel like am driving a mid-size vehicle. It is ... (more)
Story
I remember when I first bought my car and I took my co-workers to lunch. They were really impressed with the interior of the vehicle and from that day on they always wanted to ride in my car whenever we went to lunch, especially since everyone could fit inside.
Pros
The top things I love about this car is the storage and room. It can comfortable sit 7 people. I also love driving this car, it is a very smooth ride.
Cons
The only con is that I have to buy high premium gas. Additionally, it would have been nice if there was a GPS navigation and DVD player.

We have had this Aviator for about 8 years. It has been very reliable. It now has over 200,000 miles on it but only minor repairs and normal maintenance. I can't remember spending over $500 on repairs at any one time. We have probably only had it worked on every 2 years.
Story
We have taken this car on many trips to the beach. We would have the back area full to the roof with beach toys and luggage so you couldn't even see out the back.
Pros
The body is still in great shape. No rusting. The interior, leather, is darker from years of use but has no rips or cracking. The seat heaters and seat A/C still work very well. It's little extras like those that I expect to break first. Everything still works, windows, locks, DVD player, etc. with few exceptions.
Cons
The only items that have stopped working on the car is the rear A/C and the volume button on the radio. The rear A/C we decided not to fix since my teenage son is learning to drive in this car and shouldn't have any back seat passengers. The steering wheel radio volume control still works so the intermittent knob performance is not really and issue.
