The 1997 Lincoln Town Car has performed admirably. It is very reliable, rides smoothly. My particular car has almost 500k on it. Riding in the car is a dream, as it's a smooth, quiet ride. The seats are power, very cushioned, and fully adjustable (up, down, forward, backwards.) The car has a built in garage door opener that can be programmed to your particular garage door. The body is luxurious and sleek. The car is sturdy. The car does, however, burn a tremendous amount of gasoline. It gets the worst miles per gallon of any car I've ever owned. Fifteen dollars worth of gas, with the air conditioner running, only gets you about 50 miles or so. When something does go wrong with the car, it is not entirely cheap, or easy, to repair. The power windows on the car are not reliable and will ... (more)

This car is a great car in many ways. The model and the year plus the price I paid for it, make it a good combination. First of all, when it was new, this car was a luxury car. After 15 years is still a good looking car that I am not ashamed to drive anywhere from church to a business meeting. The car is built with high quality materials, the iron, the leather the plastics are just great. After 15 years still looking good. It has plenty of features that makes the experience more pleasant: from cruise control to wheel commands and the rest of things. It is very spacious as well, you could easily take a nap on the back seat couch. It has also the 3rd place in front between the driver and the passenger.
Story
Happened a few days ago. I was in an intersection and I thought I could turn left when a SUV cut me off. Because I was already with half of the car in the road and because other cars were approaching, I backed up. I didn't realize that a car was behind me and I hit it. To my surprise my car has not suffered any -not even a small scratch. It was funny and a relief. :)
Pros
1. Big car 2. Engine is very quiet 3. Quality built 4. Runs at least 500k miles if well maintained (mine has 222k) 5. Good mileage/gallon - I usually get 24 mpg hwy and 18 city 6. Interior spacious including trunk 7. Very drivable
Cons
1. I don't know if it has a ESP, I think not 2. The braking system it's not brilliant 3. At some things is hard to work on the engine 4. Some electrical problems have occurred to me 5. You can't sell it quick because the market looks for something else not big old cars

2005 Lincoln Town Car - It is a luxury vehicle that has made me spoiled. It's spacious, PLENTY of trunk room, and a nice drive. I don't know how to be in a regular vehicle anymore

When I first started driving the vehicle I had a great deal of trouble because it's so long and wide, but the rear reverse sensors are very helpful and I sometimes forget that not every car has them so I have to pay more attention. I hated how sensitive the pedals were but then I realized that was my money at work. I love that it takes very little effort to drive it. It does what I want it to when I want it to. I also live in a windy area and in other cars you can feel the wind moving the vehicle but in the Lincoln there seems to be more control and less push felt from the wind. I wish, however, that my vehicle had heated seats since it has leather seats. If the seats weren't leather then all would be fine, but since they are, in the winter it is the most freezing and painfully cold fe... (more)
Story
Honestly, the funniest and most interesting thing about the vehicle to me was that most of the time I had to get into the trunk to pack it. But being able to sit in or on the edge of the drunk with my legs in, was probably one of the most convenient things. If I needed a sit or a little privacy it was a perfect spot. Also, the backseat was great to lie down and take a nap
