The Lincoln Town Car is the last great American car. At first, I was afraid of getting a lemon then realized that this car is great.
Story
I was driving for Uber -- people just like the car: the silence at high speeds, the comfort, and space. I drove a family from the Barbados. They enjoyed it so much they asked if they could get one for their tiny Island. I hope they did get one. Very often when I stop, people come and talk about my car. I blush, but they have these "kid eyes" on it. The last great American car.
Pros
Smooth ride and excellent mileage. I never get below 17 MPG. Despite the weight of the car, the V8 engine will help achieve great speeds pretty fast but certainly not as fast as a race car. Once on the highway, it is the best ride I have ever drove. Silence is king in the cabin, and the sound system delivers even when not too loud. Easy to get 25 to 28 MPG on the highway. The elegant trim and the comfy leather seats make it a car to own for many years. I love the cassette player, which allows me to hook up my iPad and my phones to the sound system for just a few bucks...and change it at wi... (more)
Cons
Not a car for everybody. It requires you to follow to the letter the manufacturer's maintenance schedule. The undercarriage needs to be taken care of as it tends to rust easily. Oil changes are frequent. Parts may be expensive to replace. Not a commuter car you use and change very two years. Needs all the safety space possible in order to make an emergency brake. The black body needs extensive maintenance to stay up to specs, and so does the rag top. This car is for people that take care of their car.

2003 Lincoln Town Car - Comfortable ride but issues abound.

I love the feel of this car, when it is running properly. The interior feels nice, the car looks classy, and the features are overall appealing.
Story
Summers here are very hot, so we really like to crank up the air conditioning. My daughter and I stopped at a local fast food restaurant for ice cream one afternoon. Even with the air conditioning on, my ice cream cone started to melt rapidly. I saw that it was falling, and reached up with my hand to catch it just before it hit my steering wheel. I placed the ice cream back on the cone, but dr... (more)
Pros
The interior of the car is very nice, and feels luxurious. I love the dual heat/air conditioning feature, the ability to move the seats with power controls, and the digital speed display. I also really like the estimated miles remaining before I need to fill up again, and the life span display for oil.
Cons
I have had numerous issues with the car. The rear suspension developed a hole and eventually broke. I was told that this is a common problem with these cars. Also, the car likes to throw spark plugs.
