Great... But could be better.
I bought a base-model MKZ a few months ago, and I'm still pretty pleased about the purchase. What initially attracted me to it was the exterior styling, which is absolutely awesome. Interior-wise, it honestly could have been better for the price... It still looks good inside, but its full of economy car-quality materials (e.g. *Fake* wood paneling) that could easily have been improved upon. Power's acceptable but not amazing. What I do love is the transmission, which is buttery smooth (I prefer a smooth ride to a fast, jolty one). Overall, it's a very good car with some things which could stand to be improved on.

I love my MKZ. It's not without its quirks.
The car is a joy to drive and ride in. I love everything about the car except the build quality. The lumbar support stopped adjusting, the door handle cover on the driver door will randomly come loose, and the front right wheel developed a bad bearing in less than 30k... Now that the bad is out of the way, I'll get into why it's an excellent car and its quirks. The car gets great mileage for how quick it is. I love the push button gear change although to others that is a big quirk. The stereo sounds amazing and gets plenty loud without distorting. I listen to talk radio, metal, and rap seamlessly. The AWD functions well as expected and the traction control works well. The trunk is spacious, but there is a design flaw where water from outside the trunk can run off and drip onto things in the trunk from the sides. A small note is that the exterior trunk release button wore out cosmetically very quickly. I have two young children, and they fit fine in the back seat with their car seats but maneuvering around them to install and retrieve items gets tight. The infotainment center works well but did not come with navigation. I like the newer system in my wife's 2018 Explorer. I also love the seat/mirror profile saving feature that can be set up for multiple drivers and can be changed at the push of a button on the drivers door. The car looks good, and I enjoy driving it very much.
