I drove this car nearly 25,000 miles within the first year up and down the east coast. It has never so much as made me question it from reliability to fuel economy. The Mazda 3 is an exceptional piece of engineering. I am able to drive at highway speeds and maintain a 40+ mpg consumption rate. The car has a very smooth clutch in the standard transmission and, even with just a four cylinder engine, has a fine amount of pick up.
Story
I had taken a wrong turn in rural New York and ended up taking the car nearly up the side of a mountain on a dirt road and got to see one of the best sunsets of my life.
Pros
The car looks fantastic with great lines, especially the front wheel wells and grill. The trunk is spacious, and there is plenty of room within the cab where I have easily fit five people for an hour long ride without problems. The variable timing allows for the engine to both have pickup when required, but also become more fuel efficient when cruising.
Cons
The only negative thing I would be able to attest to being displeased with is the back seat does not fold down flat. This makes carrying things such as skis difficult. When folded down, it takes up a large amount of room within the cab as it is not flat and wastes a large amount of storage.

2006 Mazda Mazda3 - Great value and dependable.

I bought my vehicle because it was within my price range while going to college. I purchased the vehicle for $4,000 in cash, but did have to do work on it. I'm overall very pleased because the car has retained a lot of value and has been dependable. After the initial repairs I haven't had to spend a lot of money on it at all. I think it's a good quality car, although it could have higher-end finishes.
Story
I was driving back from the Capital on a rainy night and there was enough water on the road that the splashes made LOUD sounds when they hit the wheel well!
Pros
I love how easy this car is to drive. It has been dependable and gets pretty good gas mileage. It has a cute sporty look and has personality.
Cons
The things I don't like about the car are the space concerns. Having a small car for day to day use isn't a bad thing, but transporting things back and forth can be a hassle. It's small enough that fitting luggage or large objects (such as a vacuum) in the back are annoying.

The salesman. When we first came on the lot he offered his help if we needed it, but wasn't pushy about anything. Any questions we had, he answered without having to look anything up. We didn't buy on the first or second visit to the dealership and he was still patient with us throughout the process.

Berglund offers very competitive prices, and a great selection. However, although this is the most important thing I noticed that sets Berglund apart, it certainly isn't the only one. Also, Berglund offered me complete in-house coverage for repairs. This means, if my car were to break down I would be able to take it back to Berglund to get it fixed. This is a great amenity!
