I love my new MINI Cooper. It is truly a great car. I love the design so much. One of the things that I feel makes this car unique is that the it has such an interesting paint design. It is red but also has white strips going up the front, which I absolutely love. I was even able to get mirror accessories that look like a checker board, black and white. The car has had absolutely no technical or mechanical problems so far, which is definitely a huge plus. Also, the gas mileage is good. The gas mileage is about 29 mpg for in city driving and about 40 mpg for driving on the highway. I really love my car and would recommend it to any one I know. While I was happy with my previous car, a Toyota Prius, I love my MINI Cooper even more. My boyfriend will be in the market for a new car soon, a... (more)
Story
The first night my boyfriend and I took this fun car out on the town. It was a really fun night and the first night we had really got to drive in the car together. We took the car downtown to the beach. Then we drove up and down A1A looking at all the scenario. The car was perfectly reliable and provided us with a great way to travel that night. Since then, we have had many more fun experience... (more)
Pros
Pros include the great gas mileage I am able to get with this vehicle. Another pro is that the car is easy to drive and gives a nice smooth ride.
Cons
While I can't think of many, one that does come to mind is that the car is not a hybrid. My previous car was a hybrid, and I did really appreciate how it was better for the environment. I hope in the future they make a MINI Cooper hybrid car.

2008 MINI Cooper - Fun to drive, horrible durability.

I had a manual transmission, yellow MINI Cooper. It was neat looking. I got a lot of compliments on it. Although I am a male, I got a lot of grief for driving what is perceived as a female car.
Story
Driving on mountains in my MINI was fun, windows open, sunroof open, and cruising on the winding roads was just cool.
Pros
It had great MPG. I think I averaged about 40 MPG and could travel over 500 miles on a single tank. With the stick shift, it was a lot of fun to drive. Being a tiny car, I was able to fit into tight spots. Since it used synthetic oil, I was able to only have to get my oil changed like once or twice a year. I liked being able to essentially grab anything from the driver's seat i.e. the other door and everywhere in the back seat, with ease. And being tall, I was surprised how spacious it was for me to drive.
Cons
The upkeep on the MINI was terrible. First the A/C compressor went out (which apparently is a common problem). The hatchback opener broke. The keyless entry stopped working. The locks on both doors broke off. It took premium gas, so while I didn't have to fill up as much, it still cost a lot to fill it. The A/C was horrible in general. I would have to put it on the highest fan and coolest setting just for it to be comfortable. The back seat was essentially useless for passengers.
