I bought this used with over 100,000 miles on it and it is still going strong. It is built to last. There are plenty of airbags so I feel like my children are safe. The fact that it is so long means my husband is able to fit the lumber he has to buy in it without having to get a truck to bring his lumber home. It is a very comfortable vehicle with lots of room for passengers and all our gear.
Story
I like to decorate the luggage rack at Christmas, and my friends tell me they recognize my van around town because of it.
Pros
Built to last very roomy

The Oldsmobile Silhouette mini van has been referred to as the Cadillac of mini vans. It's comfortable ride, optional and easy to remove seating easily holds 8 people and a multitude of cargo; even more with the addition of luggage racks on top, and towing package behind. It is the perfect vehicle for a day or a week at the beach, with the included air hose and inflation station in the back. With dual air and radio with headphones for the back seat passengers, it will provide an oasis for the driver as well. Great gas mileage, easy to locate controls, and plenty of space make this a wonderful choice for a family and their pets. Side doors slide open on both sides, with one being accessed by an electronic button opener help with ease in loading and unloading. A V6 engine and automatic s... (more)
Story
Driving around my neighborhood, my dogs like to hang out of the windows, and I get people to smile at the sight of two dog heads on each side taking in the breeze. And that makes me smile!
Pros
Ease of use, and removal of back seats are a big plus in this vehicle. It can be conformed in many different ways, with bucket and bench seats either folded down or removed. The comfort of driving and getting in and out of the van is a positive, as it is low to the ground. Also, little roll over possibility with that feature. Good gas mileage, and low repair bills are also an advantage.
Cons
Not really a lot of bad things to say on this one, unless someone is looking for a smaller vehicle. One repair that's needed at around 75K would be the only negative, and that is a seal that is made from material that breaks down and requires the engine to be removed, and having all gaskets replaced at the same time. The battery is a little hard to get to and requires removal of a bar that blocks it.

IÕve owned a lot of vehicles in my life, but this one by far takes the cake! I have a 2002 Oldsmobile silhouette with about 152,000 miles on it, and lots of life left for sure! When we got this minivan, it had sat for over a year without being driven. It did have some rusting issues along the rocker panels beneath the doors and along the wheel wells, but we do live in Michigan, with all sorts of weather. Other than that, the body is a beautiful sea green, with lots of sweet features! Inside is a cream leather interior, that doesnÕt have a crack or tear in any area. That really surprised me for being almost 18 years old! There are 10 cup holders in total, and can seat seven passengers very comfortably! IÕve sat in the back myself, and itÕs even perfectly comfortable for adults in the ba... (more)
Story
Taking the kids to the beach is a breeze even without towels because the seats are leather and easy to wipe off. No more wet seats!
Pros
Electric sliding doors that open by button, comfy seats throughout. Steering wheel controls, smooth ride.
Cons
Sliding door only works half of the time, rust along bottom side of doors and rocker panels. Window off track and not working properly.
