I got a great bang for the buck with this vehicle: its all-wheel-drive traction, its impressive fuel economy, powerful turbocharged engines, and comfortable sport seats.
Story
I was visiting in a different state and stopped at a local brewery where local WRX owners happen to meet once a week. They thought I was new in town and welcomed me to their community. We talked about our cars for hours. It was really funny to me so I just went along with it.
Pros
I love the safety features. The car is equipped with front-seat side-impact airbags, front and rear side-curtain airbags, a driver's-knee airbag, electronic traction and stability control and incline-start assist, which keeps the vehicle from rolling backward when starting off on an incline of more than five degrees. This is very important to me since I own a manual transmission vehicle. Performance is exceptional. The WRX is an amazing performer, offering the kind of performance that can shame cars that are twice, even three times its price. On the track, the 2.0-liter turbo provides ampl... (more)
Cons
There is a lot of road and wind noise inside the cabin. It provides a very firm ride. There is no hatchback model. If I had the option, I would have gotten a hatchback model, which is always my preference. Eyesight is only offered on the WRX Limited. Fuel economy with the six-speed manual is rated at 20 miles per gallon in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. It requires the most expensive fuel.

I've always wanted an WRX STI since seeing Colin McRae drive one in the Rally World Championship back when I was just a wee lad. When I finally bought one, I was hooked. This model is the best one that I've bought. It's such a fun car to drive. The acceleration, braking and handling are great. Subaru's symmetrical AWD pared with the FA20 engine makes for great rally-car demeanor. It's very capable daily driver, but those twisty back roads are really where it shines. Pair the symmetrical AWD with the right tires and snowy situations are of little problem. It's passenger friendly, has great outward visibility, and earned solid results from the IIHS. Subaru people are pretty friendly, I enjoy the waving to one another culture. Subaru WRX and WRX STIs are the best performance to value spor... (more)
Story
I'm happiest with my WRX when it's snowing or raining or dusty or whatever.
Pros
Performance, handling, braking, symmetrical AWD, outward visibility, rally-car demeanor, handles being driven aggressive beautifully, cargo space - is pleasant larger than you would expect from a car of this kind, it's just really fun to drive.
Cons
Lackluster interior, fuel economy, stiff suspension, no CarPlay, not as large of a difference from the WRX which cost thousand less, cabin could be quieter, stock tires, paint chips easily.
