The Subaru Outback 2.5I is a great station wagon for people on the go. It is roomy enough to tote kids - those with two legs, or those with four legs! The all wheel drive is very stable, and is very able to get you through all kinds of weather conditions - gravel, rain, or snow. The handling, with the right kind of tires, is generally excellent. The engine, while good for gas mileage, isn't very peppy if you're looking for a performance vehicle. A trade-off for mileage! The seats are very firm, but power driver seat, and heated front seat are standard trim - fantastic in cold weather! The passenger cabin could be roomier, it is definitely not for a tall family, or one with teenagers! The cloth interior is durable, and if you choose a dark interior color, hides stains well! Even at fifteen years old, it's still in great shape. It has a few rust spots of course, but that's to be expected when you live in a place that salts the roads. Once, I used this car, to pull out a Honda of similar make. The torque was amazing. The Honda was hopelessly stuck, and the Subaru pulled it right out like it was nothing, It has a smooth ride, heated seats and mirrors, and an excellent sound system. Also, being a hatchback,, there's always plenty of room in the back for grocer... (more)
Story
We drove it all through the woods during the winter and wet months and never once got stuck.
Pros
It's all-wheel drive, it has an exceptional amount of space for hauling, and it handles great in the winter.
Cons
It can be a little pricey to have it repaired.
