My Subaru Imprezza is a reliable, stylish, Northern Michigan go getter. It's a small, family car with a hatchback. It has room for a small family that is always on the go. Sports, work, hobbies, and travel have all been done with our Subaru. We live in an area that gets snow early, stays late, and is hard to predict. The weather changes within a mile of where you are headed, and the road conditions are always changing, too. The Subaru Imprezza has proven itself to be able to handle all things Michigan- rain, snow, ice, fog, and any combination of the previously mentioned. We feel confident taking our Subaru out in any weather.
Story
We were taking our first camping trip as a family. The Subaru was the only reliable car we had. We were thinking of renting a bigger vehicle for camping, but we decided to try and see how much we could fit in the Subaru. We started to pack things in, and it started to look like we were out of room. My husband looked at me and said, "we only need to fit a sleeping bag and two pillows!" We were ... (more)
Pros
Handles great on icy conditions. Comfortably fits a small family. The back seats fold down to hold a ton of gear or for major shopping events. Six-CD disc changer. Battery is easy to get to. Maintenance isn't too expensive. Stylish without being too sporty looking.
Cons
Would like a little more storage area. Lower to the ground than I want- if it were about three to six inches off the ground it would be PERFECT. Fuel economy is just ok. I wanted something better. It's great for highway driving but not for inner city.

My main motivation for purchasing this car was its handling on snow and hills, and I have not been disappointed. We get approximately 300 inches of snow every year and my Subaru handles it like a champ. The heated seats keep me warm and toasty on cold days, and the heated mirrors strongly improve my ability to see other cars in bad conditions. I also love the hatchback feature and use it to transport larger items than I could get into my old standard sedan. The fold down rear seats assist with making the cargo space larger.
Story
Taking a road trip with my niece in the back seat. We were singing along to the music on the stereo and heading from the zoo. She was curled up with her new stuffed wolf in the back seat.
Pros
I love the handling on snow and hills in winter. This is truly what I needed in a car and this Subaru has lived up to its reputation in that regard. I also love the integrated Bluetooth and often listen to podcasts or books on tape while driving long distances. This car also has really good sight lines.
Cons
I wish the gas mileage was higher. The original tires did not last me as long as I would expect and the replacement tires have decreased the gas mileage considerably. The road noise is also a little louder than I would personally prefer.

They did not pressure me at all and allowed me to test drive the car by myself so I could focus rather than having to talk to a salesperson.
