Dodge Caliber Owner Ratings & Reviews

2007 Dodge Caliber - Great car.
My 2007 Dodge Caliber is my first car, so I don't have a lot to compare it to. It's ten years old now, though I've only had it for six. I like that I haven't had to do too much work on it, aside from basic maintenance. The only major issue I've had is that I had to replace the alternator a few years back.
Story
My friends and I went to a drive-in movie once and drove my car specifically because of the hatchback. It was great; we didn't waste too much gas money, but there was room for all of us to crowd in the backseat and watch the movie.
Pros
I really like the size of this car; I grew up driving mini vans and whatnot, and this drives more like that than a small car. One good thing, though, is that this has much better gas mileage than a larger vehicle. I also really like the hatchback. It makes hauling groceries and things very easy, and I like that I can transport furniture and other big items by putting the seat down. One kind of funny thing is that my sister and I bought this car together to commute to college, and then when we graduated we bought another Dodge Caliber for her because we liked this one so much.
Cons
I would say that as nice as the trunk space is, making it like an inch or two wider would be great. For whatever reason, you can't quite fit a bike in it, and I had to buy a bike rack for the back of mine. I'll also say that I've had some front end issues with it, though I don't know if that's a product of its age or the make and model.
2007 Dodge Caliber -
The Dodge Caliber is an excellent economy car. I have driven it for around 10,000 miles and it has given me no problems. I like the size of the car since it's not that big and it still gives off a sense of security. The car has good mileage and I typically fill the tank every 2 weeks. The quality of the car does feel sub par and the model has been known to have problems, but not in my case. If someone is looking for a good first car, the Caliber is a car that I would like to recommend.
Story
A fun memory of driving this car was the trip to a concert on a campus that was about 100 miles from where I lived while traveling with a group of friends.
Pros
The gas mileage for the car is really good, with the 12 gallon tank it typically lasts for around 2 weeks of driving 24 miles a day. The layout of the car is welcoming and it is really easy to know where everything is. Calibers are notoriously inexpensive to purchase.
Cons
While the car is cheap and reliable, it does have its somewhat concerning problems. The car tends to rattle whenever I am driving at speeds higher than 70 mph. While driving on the freeway the wind tends to make the car easily sway. I wouldn't really expect anyone to buy this car in hopes of driving fast since the kick of the engine is below average.
