2008 Chevrolet Cobalt - Sporty Cobalt, Tarnished Auto Company
I have a 2008 Chevy Cobalt. I like it. It is the first car I purchased on my own. What I like about it is that it is a sporty 2 door car with a spoiler. It drives well. It has AC, CD player, AUX option, XM Radio option, power windows and locks. I think it is holding up considering that I used to drive it a lot at my old jobs. It's endured a lot of wear and tear but I still like the car. I don't like the color, it's white which means it gets dirty quickly. What I dislike about the car, doesn't have much to do with the car. Sometimes I wish I had a 4 door just for more room but its not a big deal. The main thing I dislike is how GM handled the recall on the faulty ignition. I felt like I was riding in a dangerous car for awhile until they fixed it. Then I feel like they tried to get me t... (more)
Pros
The top positive things were the sporty 2 door style, the spoiler on the back, AUX cord ability, XM Radio ability and it has good bass if you like your music loud.
Cons
It's a small car, so you can't carry a lot in it. Another negative thing is I don't like the way GM handled the ignition recall situation. It makes me want to delay buying another car from their company.
2007 Chevrolet Cobalt - Enjoyable ride.
I love the performance of the Chevy Cobalt SS. It accelerates nicely and rides smoothly. The brakes do need to be replaced a little more often than I have experienced with other vehicles, but they are easy to do myself, rather than taking to a shop for service. The speaker system does leave a little something to be desired, though. Nothing special about them and certainly not what I would call high quality. The doors are weirdly weighted and tend to close on me prematurely or not open far enough for me to get out. Being 5'3", the car fits me perfectly. Though, again, the doors odd weight distribution and extremely wide opening radius make it hard for me often when I'm getting in or out of the car.
Story
I got stuck in a driveway making deliveries and had to be shoveled out. Such a low car does not do well in snow.
Pros
My favorite features of the Chevy Cobalt SS are its quick acceleration, the size of the car itself, and the adjustability of the car seats. I've never driven a car with such excellent acceleration. This car is never sluggish. Being short, the size of the car and the interior proportions are perfect. I can get in and out easily based on the size of the car. The seat is adjustable enough for me as well. I am able to reach the pedals comfortably.
Cons
The biggest complaint for me for this car is also something I like about it. It has a very low profile, which makes it easy for me to get in and out but also makes it a pain to drive in the snow. Living somewhere that gets a lot of snow during the winter, I am frequently bottoming out in the winter and have difficulty driving. The tires are a bit to slim for snow as well which, of course, is good for a sports-type car, but not so good for all year driving.
