2008 Toyota Corolla - This vehicle is so good on gas, it makes no sense.

I absolutely love this car. It has never died on me. It can go for very long distances, without much trouble. It is the opposite of a gas guzzler, it saves me a lot of money every week. The only problem that I have with it is that sometimes I have to power steer really hard and it makes me uncomfortable while driving. The handling is pretty decent, it's not like my mom's car. My mom's car is a four wheel drive, unlike my car which is only a front wheel drive. There are times when I get mad at my car because it doesn't have an aux cord feature. It does not make sense. It really confuses me. The 2007 model has an AUX cord feature but the 2008 model does not and I just don't understand that design decision. Other than that, my car has never given me any problems. The long distance driving... (more)
Pros
This is an economy car, a little higher priced for that purpose but you get what you pay for. What I was willing to pay for was dependability, good gas mileage and easy to drive. What I got was exactly that. I bought this car new in 2008 and have driven it 120,000 miles and it has NEVER been in the shop except for oil changes, new brake pads and tires. It has been very dependable and worth every dollar I paid for it. It isn't a sexy car, or the best handling or very powerful but it does get around 33 miles per gallon, nice trunk space and decent interior space for its size. Overall, this c... (more)
Cons
Corollas aren’t built to win races. Speed is not one of its strengths. One criticism is that the car can feel more like a boat at times even at full-speed on the highway. It can be slow to accelerate especially from a complete stop. The Ford Focus handles better in its steering, it’s “feel” and acceleration. The Focus, as alternative to the Corolla, has many of the same pros and cons, the biggest pro being that it’s for the flashy rather than the frugal. The 2008 Toyota Corolla is right for anyone if you’re cost-conscience, informed, and smart. At points there were moments where I would tr... (more)

Our decision to purchase a Toyota corolla was easy. We went to the dealership, and saw this baby in the lot. It looked sleek and luxurious compared to previous corolla models, but also didn't stand out as anything over the top. After a test drive, we found the ride to be quiet and smooth. Performed very well on the highway with clear visibility all around. Technological features on the steering wheel were attractive and easy to get used to. The braking system was smooth, and the pedal response was very good. It gave the impression of being an excellent car for a family just starting out. Came with a CD player and aux input for IPods, also has the capability for Bluetooth setup. Dual airbags are a nice feature - as is the double glove compartment for extra storage. Trunk is very spaciou... (more)
Story
As soon as we sat in the car, my wife's eyes lit up. During our test drive, I could just feel her falling in love with the car, and I knew this was it!
Pros
There are many positives about this car. It has a very attractive body which is great because it sets it apart as a family vehicle. It took no time getting used to how the car drives - it responds as you expect it to in every aspect. Steering wheel and pedal response are tight and accurate to expectations. The car feels bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. Love the automatic locks and power windows. The trunk is very spacious and the backseat can fold down - which I love. We travelled across country in this car to Utah, and it was so much fun - we felt safe and protected whil... (more)
Cons
The remote lock annoys me, because it demands you click it several times to open all the doors. I commonly open at least two doors to place a bag in the back before driving, and this gets old very fast. I also feel the backseat area is just a touch too small for other passengers of adult size.

Shelor has always made me feel as if I am a member of their family. Their dealers have a knack for knowing exactly when they're needed, and when it is best for them to stay away. One thing I hate about other dealerships is when I just want to wander around and I'm accosted by people trying to sell me something; not help me.

This dealer is such a great place to buy any car to suit any persons needs. The facility is in a convenient location near other businesses of interest and is easy to find. The salesmen are friendly and focus on the needs of the customer. The salesman provide reasonable prices without the unpleasant pressure commonly found in the used car industry.
