2015 Toyota Prius c - Fantastic Hatchback For The Price.
My vehicle is a red 2015 Toyota Prius C. It is a 4 door hatchback. As a musician who plays string bass and commutes 30 minutes to school everyday I needed a car with good gas mileage that could fit a large instrument, among other equipment. The Toyota Prius line is also the best for hybrid cars, with the highest gas mileage.
Story
I went on a road trip the month after I got this car. I was able to go to Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, up through Montana, and back to Washington for only $100 in gas.
Pros
Great gas mileage, generally 50-60 on the freeway and 60+ if careful in the city. Four doors, hatchback, comfortable seats, Bluetooth, USB/Audio jack plug-ins for stereo & quick defrost for windshield. It also only needs an oil change every 5000 miles or so.
Cons
Needs synthetic oil, which is more expensive. The heater isn't as powerful as I would like and it drains gas mileage additionally, the AC is too cold. Cup holders are too small, no charger port for the back seats & only one cup holder for back seats. The seatbelts in the back get caught when moving the seats up and down, more leg room in the back would be nice & the steering wheel can't be adjusted up and down as much as would like.
2005 Toyota Prius c - The fuel expense savings has been great.
Although I did not care for the exterior profile of the Prius, the inside is roomy for a hybrid vehicle. I have the oil changed regularly in order to prolong the life of the car, and it seems to be working. I have 170,000 miles on the car, and I still get great gas mileage, averaging 42 miles per gallon most of the time. I have had little maintenance on the car except to have the door repaired due to being hit by a neighbor's car. The repair costs were covered by car insurance. I enjoy driving the Prius, and it does have very good acceleration after coming to a stop. I am able to tow a small trailer behind the Prius, giving me a flexibility of hauling items when needed. Most of the time I feel safe driving it, although on busy freeways, the small size makes it seem more vulnerabl... (more)
Story
It has been fun to see the faces of lumber and landscaping bark businessmen when they see me drive up with the Prius to get a load with my little trailer being pulled behind the Prius.
Pros
The good gas mileage is the best feature. Good acceleration is another positive thing. I think my favorite feature is the fact that I was able to install a hitch for my small trailer and for hauling two bicycles when I want to.
Cons
I had to have the gas pedal adjusted when there was a recall due to possibility of getting foot stuck under pedal. It would be nice to have more trunk space. Otherwise, I do not have any issues that distress me.
