The Leaf is a great electric vehicle.
I really like that the Nissan Leaf is fully electric and keeps me from having to purchase fuel. The range is decent, but varies drastically. It has been most noticeable when it is colder out. I have noticed when fully charged, the range estimation can be different by up to 20 miles. I also like how quiet the car is while it is on or being driven. You can hardly tell if the car is on or not. As such, I sometimes forget if I've turned it off! There is no noise while it is traveling, besides a small whistle at lower MPH and a beeping when put into reverse, and none when sitting. The outer appearance is very nice. The color and body is slick and it looks modern. The charging port is very well hidden and not noticeable, meaning it doesn't distract from the visual of the car. The interior of the car is nice, comfortable, and huge. I have no worries about fitting things inside of it when need be. I feel that the space inside is one of the best aspects about buying it. I also like the features they include to help keep the battery from being depleted. The heated seats and steering wheel prevent the use of the heater, which can effect battery life. It also includes regenerative breaking or when going downhill.

Good commuter car
We bought a 2015 Nissan Leaf (base model) because there were a lot of three-year lease returns with low miles, and the price point was really good at the time. We were looking for a basic, low-maintenance commuter car that would save on gas. The Leaf fit that role perfectly. The range of about 90 miles can be limiting, but for the purpose of commuting about 40 miles each day, it was perfect. We really like not having to pay for gas, and so far, our electric bill has not increased significantly. It drives pretty well for being a cheaper car. It accelerates very smoothly and quickly and I have yet to experience a time where I did not have enough power to pass another car. It's electric, so it works best at lower speeds, but the eco option does extend it a few miles. The interior is nothing exciting: very basic. But we did get the base model, so we were not expecting a lot there. The space is actually very comfortable...lots of room in the front seats, and we can fit a car seat in the back very easily. The cargo space holds a stroller and a trip to Costco with no issues.
