I have the manual hatchback version of the Toyota Yaris. I have driven it since the summer of 2008 (approximately 115,000 miles so far). I've taken it for 10+ long trips (averaging 800 miles each direction) and it has been a work horse.
Story
It's very zippy with a small turning radius. Ideal for city driving.
Pros
The car is very fuel efficient. It averages 35-40 highway miles and 28-32 in the city. I have had to replace the battery 3 times since I've owned (2 of the replacements were my fault). This is the only non-routine maintenance I have had to perform since owning it. I have the manual transmission and have not had to replace the clutch since I've owned it. Mechanically, the car is very sound and well built.
Cons
The car is very uncomfortable for long trips. There is very little lumbar support in the driver's seat and the weird shape of the seat makes it very bad on your back for long periods of time. Not very family-friendly. We drove the car with two kids and two car seats for a few months before having to buy a larger vehicle. The hatchback has two doors making it difficult to reach the back seat. Most of the interior feels very cheap and easy to break. The sun has warped my dashboard, so it rubs on the windshield making irritating noises now.

2013 Toyota Yaris - Positive experience.

The 2013 Toyota Yaris is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. Living in the city I enjoy driving the Yaris very much. The small body size means that I can park the vehicle in compact car parking and small parallel spaces. The gas mileage is quite good and I often only have to fill up every two weeks even with daily driving. The "eco" light which comes on when you at optimum gas saving is a nice feature. The car has the perfect amount of leg room for me to drive and I am very tall. The passenger seat is not as comfortable as the drivers and has limited controls for moving the seat to a better position. Tall or large people do not comfortably fit in the passenger seat. The collapsible rear seat is fantastic and makes you able to fit large purchases in the back. The hatch is wide ... (more)
Story
We purchased a 55 inch flat screen tv and were able to fit the tv in the box through the hatch and still had room to put several grocery bags and the dog in the car!
Pros
The combination of the hatch/rear seat. The savings on gas. The small size.
Cons
The passenger seat is not very comfortable.

The Cavenders run a fairly honest, fairly customer-oriented business and tend to hire people who conform to that mold. I don't know that I would say they're "the best," but they certainly run a good business.

They charge no interest and ask for a very reasonable down payment and affordable monthly payments. Great place for people with bad credit or no credit.
