I really liked the Buick Encore the first few days after I bought it. It was small, easy on gas and the exterior lines were different than anything else on the road. I researched and researched compact crossovers before I bought mine and decided to go with the Buick. The value for what you get vs price paid seemed to be right up my alley. While researching, I found out that the design was originally from overseas and had been out for a couple of years before being brought over to the US, which I liked. I thought the quality was going to be better than years past GM vehicles. The Encore does have nice styling and the features I care about at the time. Unfortunately, my Encore has had problem after problem. First, the second week of owning it, the windshield washer container began to lea... (more)
Story
One time the alarm decided to go off buy itself, even with the key in the ignition and would not turn off for 20 minutes. My neighbors loved it and when the police showed up they thought it was real funny too.
Pros
The Buick Encore has nice body lines. A good looking set of factory wheels. Options that I like are the OnStar and infotainment center in the middle of the dash.
Cons
The build quality of the motor is horrible. I have sworn off buying GM vehicles ever again because of the past three GM vehicles I have owned have been very poor quality built. I have also owned a Kia and Hyundai, and both of those are older and have only had one percent of the amount of repairs that my GM vehicles have had.

I actually really enjoyed this car much to my surprise. My wife had originally bought it for herself, however it proved too big for her so I ended up with it. It has great options, good ride, was very comfortable and was a dream for long distance hauling of the family on road trips. It was easy to park for a big car, was fairly powerful and had lots of nice technology.
Story
About six months ago we took it to the beach and ended up driving up and down the sand as there was no one around. Was great fun to have the windows open with the sea smell coming in as we ran up and down the sand.
Pros
Lots of room, great highway driver, good amounts of technology/options, looked great and people always made positive comments about it.
Cons
Bad gas mileage, hard to drive if you are on the shorter side, always seemed to be having small electrical issues here and there.
