We recently added a second child to our brood and needed a bigger vehicle than my small car. We traded in for the Buick Encore and love it! While it is still small for an SUV, it is perfect for what we need. It is stylish on the inside and outside. It is quiet and the on-demand awd is amazing in the winter. I actually just drove it in the blizzard in Denver and had very little trouble. The ride is smooth and enjoyable. The only downside is that braking is loud and makes an odd noise. Have taken it to the dealership and have been told it is just that way. Overall the pros far outweigh the few (one in my case) cons.
Story
I drove it in rush hour of the 2016 blizzard in Denver and while other cars were all over the road, in ditches, and wrecked I SAILED right through the mess and got safely to and from work!
Pros
It has a quiet drive and rides very smooth. I love the on-demand all wheel drive and that the car senses slipping before I do. It is a great feature for safety. The outside and inside are both stylish and show luxury in the vehicle itself. The gas mileage is great! I thought we would spend more on gas going from a tiny car to this but they are both comparable. We love this car.
Cons
The storage space could be a bit more. The vehicle is small as far SUV's are concerned but it works well for my family. We have noticed (several times) a weird noise from the brakes. It almost sounds like air coming from them but the dealership assured us that is not the case and this is common with this vehicle. It is concerning and I have done a lot of reserach and others experience this as well.

2014 Buick Encore - Best car I have driven so far.

This car is my favorite car I have owned so far. I have driven many miles on it, and we hear no weird noises, and have no problems accelerating or anything! One of the only things I dislike about the car is the fact that sometimes the person getting out of the backseat struggles. It is a little bit too small of an opening to get in or out without sliding sideways. I love the interior of the car. It looks really nice and fancy compared to my old car. We have had no problems with anything electrical, and I feel like I'm always learning something else about the system in the car all the time (it's fun!).
Story
When we drove to the North Sioux City park. It was fun to be able to drive over the grass to park and not get stuck like we used to in our other car. Can't wait to test it out in the snow this winter at the park again.
Pros
I love the leather seats; they heat up nice and quick too! The rear view camera is very nice also because there's a blind spot that I can't see around without the camera on when backing up. This car also gets very good gas mileage for an SUV. I love that I can go a week and a half without having to fill up again. This car also has the blind spot mirrors, and it is so helpful since the blind spots are so big on the car. My favorite feature is the remote start. I've heard that remote starts don't work well sometimes, but it works really well (meaning it reaches pretty far and always turns on... (more)
Cons
The only thing I really don't like about the car is the small space to get in and out of the back seat in the car. One other little problem I have is the trunk space. I get that it's supposed to be a small SUV, but unless the seats are down, sometimes I don't have enough room for groceries.
