2006 Buick Rainier - A Dependable, stylish, functional SUV

The Buick Rainier has been an extremely dependable, family-friendly vehicle. It seats 5 adults comfortably, and the leather interior and sunroof have added style. OnStar capabilities are also useful if needed. The LCD touchscreen and audio system are highly functional, and allow for extra enjoyment of a simple car ride. I have had no mechanical issues with the vehicle, and I rely on it to safely transport my family and I wherever we may need to go, whether it be close to home or on a long-distance road trip.
Story
Driving to pick up my kids at a local giovanni's with a suprise Christmas puppy on board.
Pros
My favorite features of this vehicle include the sunroof, which is not always easy to find in an SUV. The rear storage area is large enough for luggage/supplies, as well as our very large Great Pyrenees mix to ride comfortably. The air compressor installed in the back is also handy for filling up bike tires and other small objects. The leather interior makes it easier to clean up dirt and spills. The vehicle is very dependable and has never given me any reason to worry about its reliability.
Cons
It is EXTREMELY difficult to access the spare tire! In addition, the tire iron and jack are located behind the back seat. This means that you have to move children or backseat passengers in order to get to it, which can prove to be dangerous alongside a road. The only other con is that Buick no longer makes new Rainier models.

The vehicle is good over all, and has a satisfactory level of build quality. I've had a few issues, though, particularly the door handles have broken three times, the headlights were recalled and it took a long time to resolve that. On the other hand, it has a 124,000 miles on it and has had few problems, which I take to be a sign that the vehicle was well constructed. This is in sharp contrast to some of the vehicles that my husband has had, which were absolute garbage.
Story
I had to drive off road a few weeks ago after a rain storm, and the vehicle didn't get stuck.
Pros
The two features that I appreciate most about my vehicle are the heated leather seats and XM radio. I have to spend a lot of time out on the highway for my job, and I live in a state with winter weather conditions, so both of those features are important to me. It's also good on gas and tells me what I'm averaging--that's another helpful feature.
Cons
The only two negatives that comes to mind are the size of the console and the overall look. The console could be bigger, and the cup holders could be better designed. Again, I spend a lot of time on the road, so this is noticeable. Also, the exterior doesn't look very sleek or stylish.
