2013 Chevrolet Equinox - Sporty and luxurious feel! Beautiful both on the inside and outside. I feel like a million bucks when I get in this sub. So many people compliment how beautiful the car is and they (and I) love all of the extra features the vehicle offers.
I like the look of the vehicle and how smooth it drives on the road. Currently my only dislike is that the rearview mirror sits a little lower than I'm used to in a SUV. Also, the MyLink screen froze a couple of times which was an inconvenience.
Story
I surprised my boyfriend by not telling him I had just recently (at that point it was 3 days prior) traded in my previous sub for the Chevrolet Equinox. When he pulled up to my place and saw it he had a huge smile on his face that I will never forget. He told me he was happy for me that I finally have a sub that fits my personality. To me, this was a happy memory.
Pros
The look, smooth ride and wide space inside makes the vehicle seem bigger than it actually is. Also, the vehicle does ok on gas mileage.
Cons
My link screen freezes sometimes, low sitting rear view mirror.
2008 Chevrolet Equinox - Workhorse
Initially, I thought it had too much chrome and was much smaller than my previous car. I liked the fact that it was roomier inside than it appeared, as I needed something to haul the grandkids, the dog, and all their gear. I do not like that it is so tall that it hits me - I am only 5' 3" - in the thighs when I am loading the groceries into the back of the car. It is high for me when I am lifting the dog into the back also. I have to crawl into the back of the car to put the cargo bar back in. I like the fact the backseats, when the seats are laid down, are fairly flat, but they do have a enough of an incline that it is sometimes hard to put the eight-foot tables into the back and keep them level.
Story
Taking it fishing at the local pond, having the room to haul all the fishing rods, tackle, chairs and other items. Early in the morning with the frogs singing. Waving at the train going thru town and getting a blast of the horn and a friendly wave back from the engineer. Always enjoyable.
Pros
The Chevy Equinox is quite a workhorse. The seats lay down for hauling lumber, carpet, banquet tables, and recently a large box that contained a wardrobe that was oversized. My car is the one we take on long trips and is the family car. We have not really had many problems in the five years I have owned it (second hand), and so far, the Illinois winters have not slowed it down. I love the ease of driving and the heated seats. The back seat will slide forward or back for leg room. Original tires lasted many years too.
Cons
The skylight has had problems since day one. It leaks and cannot close it after opening it while driving at any speed, as it will not seal well. Cannot really take it through the automatic car wash, as it leaks. The area between the seats in the front could be better designed, because it has hard-to-reach areas. The sensors in the tire caps do not last very long and just as well to replace these for regular sensors. The luggage rack is too hard to get to.
