I like the gas mileage that it gets. I drive it to and from work, probably 30 miles a day. I only have to fill up the gas tank every two weeks or so. It helps me create a budget better and be able to stick to it. IÕve read the transmission goes out early on these cars. I bought the extended warranty, which was recommended, but I only used it once. So far itÕs a decent car for regular commute. I would recommend to someone if they wanted a cheap vehicle that will last a little while. I plan to keep it for a few more years. ItÕs almost paid off now, and IÕve only had it worked on once.
Story
I have taken this car on a 650-mile one-way trip to Chicago a few times. The ride was smooth the entire way and gas wasnÕt too bad. I think the most I spent for gas was around 120 bucks, which is pretty decent. It gets around the city well and the interstate no problem. I would recommend it for traveling like that to pretty much anyone. The gas mileage is not bad, and if you're taking it on a ... (more)
Pros
Decent car so far. I get around 28 mpg in the city and 35 on the highway. ItÕs good for travel or for work. ThereÕs different versions, like the LS, turbo, or regular. IÕve read the turbo gets even better gas mileage. The LS just has a few more features. I also recommend replacing the stock headlights with LED lights.
Cons
IÕve read reviews on how the transmission goes out early on these vehicles. IÕve had to deal with a couple of issues with it. The pump valve went out on it but that was covered under the warranty. Also, the alternator is going bad, but I think thatÕs due to age. It has 145k miles on it so things go bad. It doesnÕt start increasing speed as soon as you stop on the gas peddle which is annoying. IÕve read thatÕs due to the eco engine or something like that. It took a while to get used to, but now I donÕt even notice. You just have to be carful when pulling out somewhere to make sure you have ... (more)

What I love most about this car is that it's a no-nonsense, practical car that gets me from point A to point B safely. It's reliable, affordable, and has acceptable fuel efficiency (~26 MPG combined) and standard (but capable) performance. I'm a simple person and don't like the modern bells and whistles like push-to-starts or touchscreens -- more stuff to go wrong, plus the touchscreens are distracting/dangerous, capture fingerprints, and simply aren't as fun as pressing buttons and turning dials. This model offers the touchscreen and buttons so drivers can have the best of both worlds!
Story
I enjoy every trip I take in my Cruze because it feels like I'm part of a tribe; Cruzes are everywhere! If you've ever driven on the 696 or 75 in Michigan, you know how crazy drivers can be, but it seems like there's an unspoken bond between the Cruze drivers. If I ever need to merge or pass, I know to look for one of my "tribe" because we have each other's backs.
Pros
It has a timeless, classic body with steering wheel controls, Bluetooth capabilities, and a high-quality backup camera. The trunk is massive and the car itself is very roomy for being a compact (borderline mid-sized) sedan; my father and brother are 6'8 and 6'4 respectively and love driving this car because the front seats slide all the way back, giving them more leg room than even our SUV! The car feels solidly built and safe, and I trust it will last me a long time. Maintenance is affordable, too.
Cons
The upholstery on the seats and dashboard has a mesh-like texture which makes it impossible to clean. It captures dust and if you ever try to scrub a spot out with a paper towel, forget it because the mesh acts like a sandpaper and makes a mess. The climate and radio dials have a textured rubber grip, which are also difficult to clean. The motor on the automatic windows is weak. If there is even a little bit of ice on your window, you will not be able to roll your window down. The blind spot is larger than I've had on cars in the past, so I installed my own blind spot mirrors. The rearview... (more)
