When the vehicle was first introduced, I fell in love with it. The shape and size of the car made me want one badly. It wasn't until 2009 when I was able to get my hands on one. I previously had a Dodge vehicle that I traded in for the Caliber.
Story
Driving my sister to and from school daily, while me and her baby daughter shopped our hearts out.
Pros
The size, compact but roomy. It drives smoothly. The fact it is a hatchback. Sits higher than some sedans. Almost like a mini crossover. The gas mileage. I have traveled out of town and from one end of the city to the other end without spending too much money on gas. I enjoy the lighted cup holders at night, tiny joys. The seats are very comfortable and can be laid flat to carry large items. There's a cooler in the glove compartment. It has a CD player and aux connection.
Cons
I had to replace my starter. You had to practically take the car apart to get to it. Time consuming, therefore costly. To change the headlight bulbs is a bit difficult if you are a DIYer.

2007 Dodge Caliber - Instantly had 1000 dollars in repairs.

It runs decent enough and gets fairly good gas mileage. I bought the car and instantly had to pay 400 dollars for a transmission fluid change because it has a sealed transition. It also has a leak in the gas line which shows as a gas cap problem. I replaced the gas cap and the engine light and gas cap warning is still there. It also needed a cam sensor replaced within one month. All in all I paid for the gear and then instantly had 1000 in repairs. It struggles to reach high gears. I like the space of the hatchback and the AC plug in the car is a nice feature. I hate that there is only one key hole on the drivers door and none on the passenger door or the hatchback door. I like the look overall and the seats are comfortable enough. The car does not have any bells or whistles that simil... (more)
Story
I like to lay the back seats down and make it a space for my dog to enjoy herself on long road trips.
Pros
Space, comfort, gas mileage.
Cons
Car is a walking trip to the repair shop. Noisy.

The dealership was great because my salesperson was friendly and gave me the best quote for my vehicle. I was able to test the car and was given numerous discounts and add-ons. I went to the dealership initially because a old high school classmate worked there and I was ensured that I would be treated like royalty and he succeeded my expectations.
