This car is definitely a reliable vehicle. Mine has been driven almost 200,000 miles already and is still driving just as well as before. Two problems come to mind immediately, with the first being the headlight relay occasionally being a problem on this model and the second being the gas mileage. On this particular model of car, I've experienced and noticed others experience a common problem where both headlights go out at the same time. This is a simple fix, but can be frustrating or even dangerous considering when it happens. The gas mileage on this vehicle is passable, with mine averaging 16.6 mpg, but that isn't anything spectacular even for a 13 year old car. One other thing is that the plastic used in the seats can break if you exit the car by putting your weight to the side of ... (more)
Story
Before I owned this car, it was my grandmothers. She would always loan it out to anyone in the family going on road trips because we all knew it was the most reliable vehicle in the family.
Pros
Comfort. Space. Control. Reliability.
Cons
Headlight relay. MPG.

Overall we have really enjoyed our 2006 Trailblazer. We have had no major malfunctions out of it in about four years of ownership. Our vehicle is still relatively low mileage at less than 100,000 miles, and I hope it will continue to serve our family for a long time.
Story
We were able to fold the back seat down and haul a new washing machine in the back, with my wife crouched down riding beside the washing machine to steady it.
Pros
The interior is very roomy and comfortable. We have never had a problem fitting luggage or other gear for trips and vacations. The leather is upscale and nice. The little touches like the rear-seat air and audio controls and great for the kids and make this feel like a very nice family vehicle. Mechanically, it is very solid and I am able to do a lot of the maintenance and minor repairs on it myself, with the parts being readily available and affordable and the work being reasonably uncomplicated.
Cons
One major specific problem is the lack of third-row seating. It really makes me wish we had a different trim package that perhaps featured third row seating. Another issue is that the paint has began to peel on the hood. This could be from always parking outside, but either way it seems odd that the hood of an only ten-year-old car should look as bad as ours does right now. It will need to be repainted. If the paint hadn't faded and peeled like it has, the car would look much newer and nicer.

This dealership seemed to have the least annoying car salesmen which made it the best place when purchasing a vehicle. Everyone was also very nice within the dealership and not too pushy like many places can be.
