2007 Chevrolet Aveo - Too much upkeep needed.
When I bought this car from the dealership I thought it was going to be a great investment. The first problem I came across was that the door for the tank fell off on the return trip from New York to Chicago, Illinois.
Historia
Not more than two months after owning this car I took it on a road trip to New York City, driving from the Midwest to the east coast.
A Favor
But, I will admit that the car has its upsides. When everything is taken care of, and by that I mean there are currently no engine issues with the car, I get pretty great gas mileage. That is city and highway mileage, as I live in Chicago and am a driver for both city and highway miles. I also love the color, as my car is electric blue.
En Contra
I found that the car comes with several engine issues including random misfires as the most occurring problem. Next with engine issues is the fact that the check engine light will turn on and then go off again before I can get the car to a place that can check exactly what is wrong with the car. I also have a major problem with the rims that came with the car. I never intended to have any “flashy” rims, but what I counted on was that they would be reliable. I haven’t owned this car or even a year and all four rims have been bent due to potholes (from city driving.)
2009 Chevrolet Aveo - Quality at its finest
From the very first time I sat behind the wheel, I felt the astronomical improvement compared to my 2005 Chevy Aveo. There is much less noise while running, and the vehicle feels all around more sturdy. The performance of the car is also much better. I am very pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend anyone I know.
Historia
When I originally purchased this vehicle, it had decals all over both sides. Everyone and their mother swore they would never be able to come off and that the adhesive had basically bonded with the car forever. I dealt with it for about one year until my wife got sick inside the car. It was a nasty humid day, and I had to go clean the interior. After I finished, I thought "hmm, it wouldn't hur... (more)
A Favor
On top of the noise reduction, I appreciate the small features the 2009 Chevy Aveo has to offer. Such as the auxiliary port on the manufacturer's radio. Despite the size of the vehicle, the trunk is very spacious and, with the backseats down, I feel confident transporting larger items. I do a lot of freelance work; this means most of my equipment is on me at all times - my car accommodates my spread. The Aveo has plenty of space to offer!
En Contra
The only complaint I have is minor, but I believe it was due to poor planning. There are two outlets in the vehicle, one on the passenger side of the emergency break- the other on the passenger side above the pop out cup holders. My problem is that if I have two drinks occupying those slots- I cannot use that port. Definitely not a deal breaker but a bit annoying at times. Another downside is that there is only one large opening on the inside panel of the front doors. My old Aveo had a small slot in the top where I would normally throw coins- but I got used to this.
