Sturdy to the Max!
59,000 Miles and counting! I do not know if it is the quality of the parts or Kia's dedication to customer satisfaction, but this Sportage is determined to live a good long life. I purchased this car 8 years ago when my daughter was born to replace a cumbersome and unreliable van. Not once has it broken down, or even began to show symptoms of aging. This car was well put together. Although designed as more of a mini SUV, it is very spacious ad seats 5 comfortably, or 4 with one car seat. She performs well with the 4 liter engine, and can get up and go when I need her to. I feel safe with this vehicle, unlike many competitors vehicles. By no means is this a racing vehicle for the speed demon teen or a drifter, but she can certainly turn on a dime, and handle even the most arduous road conditions. When you have a baby on board, that sense of safety is paramount. The easy to clean surfaces and Scotch guard, also assure your painted rainbows and spilled milk do not become a permanent fixture in the car.

Family fun car
I am a single mom with three kids and bought this vehicle when my daughter was born. In seven years I have put less than 70,000 miles on it, and it is still running very strong. The size is perfect for me and my three kids to take small weekend adventures camping and have all the room we need for shopping, and other activities. The vehicle has several safety latches in place for car seats of all sizes and adjustable belts in the front. It has air bags all around as well. The Sportage has a massive storage well for the tire and other items in the back, and a huge back hatch area for all our equipment, without loosing space for comfort in the main cabin. The back seats also fold down to create a large backend, if needed. The Sportage is ideal for outdoor weekend adventures, and the back end can even serve as a makeshift bed, if needed. The back hatch has a glass and door opening option. This is convenient especially for grocery shopping where things might shift and fall on your feet if you opened the entire hatch. The Interior lining is very durable, and has survived all the evils of my three kids, as it has scotch guard. My only concerns are minor since it is a small SUV. The Sportage does have a flip warning but has tons of headspace. The air conditioning system is weak, at best, the decals flake over time, and the rear window hatch lift can break easily. The paint on the trim is not great and has worn down a lot the last two years. The 2008 model was severely updated, and I feel the previous years model should have been offered retrofits. Features not included in the standard 2007 model included GPS, USB, and other features.

2007 Kia Sportage
My wife and I recently found ourselves in need of replacing her 2010 Kia Forte due to an accident. She had been wanting a small to midsize SUV for some time, so we decided to look for a KIA Sportage. Her sister had owned a 2007 model before. We stopped in at the dealership where my wife had purchased her Forte and asked if they had a used Sportage. They showed us one, and it turned out to be the color my wife wanted! We took a short test drive and liked it very much. It was clean, had low mileage and basically looked almost brand new. It did not have a lot of fancy bells and whistles such as back-up camera, GPS, etc., but it was the right size and had all we really needed. We bought it, and so far, we are enjoying the car. It has room for my model aircraft and is great for grocery shopping trips.
