This was my first car, and I believe was a great choice. First off, it was a cheap starter vehicle and has easy-to-replace parts. The size can be used to haul people as well as using a trailer. The engine is not the most powerful as it is a four-cylinder, but it has enough pep to make it to 60 mph without too much trouble. Everything is made out of plastic, so it does feel cheap, but that is to be expected as they can be found for under $7,500 easily.
Historia
In the town I used to live at, there was a convenience store next to the Verizon store. The parking lots were not connected, and to get to the store next to it, you would have to go onto the highway and go all the way back around. Instead of doing that, there was a steep concrete hill that "connected" them, and I decided to take that shortcut. Surprisingly to me and probably the people watchin... (more)
A Favor
The mileage is decent with it being around 21 mpg. The legroom and headroom is exceptional in both the front and the back. The ability to carry five people comfortably as well as have things in the back is great. My car came included with premium features such as Microsoft Sync and surround sound speakers. The height of the car allows you to not worry about bottoming out the car, and it can go over curbs with ease, perfect for a starting driver.
En Contra
Negative aspects include the smaller engine and the history of transmission problems that this model has had. The acceleration is pretty slow, and the handling is a little loose.

2009 Mercury Mariner - It's just okay. Gets the job done.

The gas use. It really eats gas for small commutes. I seem to use anywhere from 20 to 100 dollars every week. I do drive, but I don't feel like it's that much. Got good space enough to fit three kids and a wife pretty comfortable. Great rear windshield wiper and fluid still work spacious. Six-disc CD changer was pretty cool and has aux input near radio.
Historia
The all-wheel drive in the snow is great. After work during the snow storm, everybody spent a lot of time trying to get out of their spot. I was able to pull right out. Easily!
A Favor
The space. The rear window button to open up just a window portion so you do not have to open up the whole rear trunk door, but there is a rear both as well hidden in a cool spot to open it all up. Nice pockets for stashing things all over four cup holders great lighting. Decent sounding factory radio. I would rate it 7 out of 10.
En Contra
The gas hurts my wallet just a little too much. It's not as smooth of a ride as I would like. You can feel every bump on the road in my opinion.
