A Japanese truck that feels like an American truck.
This truck had all the amenities of its American counterpart. The engine which is a 5.6 liter 300+ horsepower engine provided plenty of power to tow a trailer. The build quality is excellent. As an LE edition it has plenty of modern amenities such as tilt steering, cruise control, a 6 disc cd changer, heated seats, air conditioning, sensors on the rear bumper to determine if there are any dangers behind you when backing up.

Dependable
Sturdy, well-engineered vehicle for everyday driving, towing and truck bed use. Powerful V8 5.6L engine. This vehicle has powered past 150,000 miles and can see it go for another 150,000 more with normal routine maintenance, such as oil changes. Preventative maintenance is the best kind, but I can say that this truck does not need very much attention. The front-end struts were upgraded due to wanting to even the body height from the rear. People have used spacers on their Titans, but after doing some research, the strut upgrade is the best move. So the only maintenance that had been done due to failure was blown head gasket, oil pan gasket, pcv valve replacement and oil pressure sensor replacement. The head gasket happened when the vehicle was under 75,000 miles and thus was covered under the warranty. The oil pan gasket problem is unknown although after recently replacing my pcv valve due to a noticeably high oil consumption rate, some power loss at certain ranges, the pcv valve may have been the culprit. There are forums suggesting to replace this <$20 piece around 80,000 miles. I replaced it at 150,000+. The passenger seat back side adjuster is worn and requires a specific motion now. At least it is not stuck. There is not fix, and this problem is known throughout the Titan community. There has been complaints about not putting out a recall or bulletin to fix it. I will say that considering the time in operation (13+ years), it may just be a thing of wear and tear, especially considering that the seat can fold all the way down forward to be used as a table. Again, I would consider this an inconvenience but not a major issue as I can still manipulate it. Upper control arm ball bearing boot has been torn probably from just overall use and time on the vehicle. Will need to replace that eventually. Gas mileage for city driving is a stinker but all highway miles it does surprisingly well. Great truck overall, and if you can afford the gas, go get one.
