Great at being mediocre...
I bought this car because I needed one immediately due to my last one breaking down. My first reaction to it was I really enjoyed the fact that for a car it was extremely roomy. I felt like my passengers sitting in the back seat weren't going to be forced to sit right on top of each other and actually had room to relax. I however did not like the extremely light color of the interior and that has proven to be on ongoing issue on how to keep it clean. The outside of the car is nice looking, but I personally feel it's a mix of trying to be hip and new, and also still looking like a "Grandma" car. The car has 90,000 miles on it and seems to becoming down with quite a few electrical problems. Firstly, the main screen on the radio will sometimes just randomly go blank, you can still change stations and turn the volume up and down, but you can't actually see what you are doing. Secondly, the blinkers will now not turn off automatically after you turn. You have to manually flip them back off every time. The door locks on the rear two door have a mind of their own and will lock/ unlock only when they feel like it. I do appreciate the fact that everything in the engine is clearly labeled and the things I've so far needed to check/ change has been very easy to get to. The power steering pump has recently started to make some noise, not entirely sure what is going on there yet, but as we all now. nothing in that area is very cheap to fix, so it is definitely nerve wrecking that it's starting to do that. Tail lights on this car are quite easy to change, but anything in the headlight department has proven to be very difficult to get to. You have to remove a section of the grill and front bumper just to change out a bulb. This vehicle does not like the cold either and likes to throw all kinds of light (tire pressure, check engine, etc.) when it gets below freezing even though nothing is actually wrong with any of it. The wipers have proven to be the most expensive fix so far, I've had to replace the motor twice and both arms. Overall, this car is great at getting you from point A to point B, you can always rely on it to fire up and start, but it is definitely nothing to get overly excited about.

nice but has irksome qualities
The first thing I loved about my Saturn Aura was its appearance. The body style is really slick: rounded corners, headlights slightly off to the side; they look like alien eyes. The color selection of "polar white" is also unique. It is not a stark white, typical in many white cars. It is like a muted, creamy, pearl white. Very different from other cars. It handles nicely and offers a smooth, quiet ride. Gas mileage is pretty good: 25mpg on the highway & maybe 19 in city. Not bad for a nice V6, which by the way, has got some real pep to it. Stereo sounds great and has the controls on the steering wheel. One issue with them, though, is that there are 2 sets which are labeled only with up/down symbols. So it is not obvious which set control volume & which controls the scan feature. Plus, when using the steering wheel's radio control, the up/down will only go to the next PROGRAMMED station, not the next available station. There a few other annoying quirks: the dash information center's gas monitor will tell you how many miles' worth of gas you have left. But once it reaches 45 miles left, it switches to "fuel range low." That could be 45 or 1. Hate that. Also missing from the info center is a compass! I miss a compass! The trunk is a pretty decent size. However, the door is tapered which makes getting things inside more difficult. Further, there is a rubber stopper on each side of the trunk door. After it has rained, water accumulates around these stoppers & water rips profusely right into the trunk. If you have anything in the trunk, it will be instantly wet. Cup holders ok, handy little compartments throughout cabin, glove box uselessly small. Overall a great little car... gets you where you want to go in style. If you can get past these tedious nuisances. They may sound like nitpicking, but on a daily basis, they can get on your nerves
