Great for the budget minded
This has been an excellent car for me, firstly I really like its simplicity, no gps, power seats, etc. Less to break in my experience, it has been very reliable. The simplicity also makes it very fun to drive because it is small and uses plastic body panels it is very nimble, while not really fast, it remains a blast to drive. I like its sporty looks as well, while sporty its not over the top and doesn't draw attention from law enforcement. While materials are definitely low end they don't seem to break or fall apart often and when they do are quite easy to repair. Lastly the fuel economy is excellent, I get 32-36 mpg on regular basis, which puts a lot of extra money back in my pocket. By the way I once fit two 8 foot 2x4's in the car by folding down the back seat and letting one end set on the dash and the other in the trunk.

I love my Saturn
First of all, I feel safe in my Saturn. I originally bought a Saturn after a friend recommended that all of her friends buy Saturns after she survived a head-on collision on one. She'd recently learned that had she been driving a car with a body made from different materials, there would have been no way she would have lived. I bought my 2001 SL-1 used and it runs better than brand new cars I've owned. Second, it looks like a high-end vehicle but isn't priced like one. I feel classy driving around in my Saturn despite it being a vehicle that I think has been discontinued (not many people work on them anymore, at least). I think the interior design is comfortable and there's a lot of space for transporting lots of people and items. I've driven across the country with this thing and a whole lot of stuff and at no point did my partner or I feel crowded. I'd recommend this car to anyone!

Solid and dependable little car!
My car is a gold/tan 1995 Saturn SL1. The car is compact and sits low to the ground. It gets great gas mileage - about 25 miles to the gallon - for its age and wear. I bought it shortly before I decided to go to school a couple hundred miles away from where I live, and the car got me there and back several times with no mechanical issues. It's not the sexiest looking vehicle, but it gets the job done very well. The engine has over 139,000 miles. Yet, there are two cons with ownership of this car. First, the cassette player is broken - it clicks three times and does this three times before it goes back to the radio. There was a cassette tape stuck in there to begin with but the issue continued when the tape was removed. The second con is the container holding the dome light broke off. However, both of these issues are minor. The car is an effective vehicle for those needing a dependable little car. The body is breaking down, with the paint chipping in various spots. Overall, the car is very dependable and effective if used specifically for driving - especially in bigger cities.
