When I first went to go look at cars, the Jetta was not on my list, but it stood out to me in particular. Visually, the Jetta is stunning to look at. The front grille was what made me notice the Jetta in the first place. The Jetta definitely has the European look that many people like in cars. The Jetta is very unique and unlike any car I've ever driven before. There are so many standard features in the Jetta that even some 2015 models of other brands don't have. When I took this car for a test drive I instantly fell in love with it. The ride was really smooth for a 7 year old car and the steering response was impressive. It even has a sport mode that really makes the car move! This is a FWD car and it's easy to forget that, I've squealed the tires a few times on accident, the Jetta is... (more)

I've had a lot of fun times in the Jetta, especially with the sport mode. When you hit the gas, the Jetta will throw you back in your seat a little bit. You don't really expect this from a small car but it's quite fun to drive and handles really good.
A Favor
I really love the auto up and down windows, I've never had another car that had this feature and it's quite useful. The color scheme on the gauges as well as the radio and dash light up red and blue and it looks really cool at night. This car has so many features, I find myself finding out new things about it quite frequently, for example, I just found out that if I stick my key in the door and turn it and hold it, then the windows will start to raise or lower in sync, perfect for those hot summer days when you want to vent your windows before parking your car. I really like how customizab... (more)
En Contra
There are a few cons to this vehicle, however nothing major. It is a bit more costly to maintain than domestic cars. It will cost about $100 for an oil change no matter where you go unless you choose to do it yourself. As for repairs on this car, most things are probably best left to the dealer. VW dealers tend to be overpriced in my opinion. If you open the hood and look, everything is squeezed so close together and it can be frustrating. Another con that I can think of, at least for the model I have is the gas mileage isn't the best. I think the best I've ever got was about 30 mpg and th... (more)

I have owned my GLI for about four years now, and I personally have put 110,000 miles on it. I bought it from a Volkswagen dealership with 10,000 miles on it. When I first saw it at the dealership, I wanted it immediately. It is metallic silver with tinted windows and the machined 17" alloy wheels. The GLI distinguishes itself from a traditional Jetta by having the larger alloy wheels, a front spoiler under the front bumper, the GLI badge on the front grill of the vehicle, and a sporty lip on top of the trunk in the back. My vehicle came with a turbo charged 2.0 4 cylinder engine that makes it very fun to drive, and an automatic transmission with pedal shifters on the steering wheel as well as the option to shift over to manual mode, where you can control when the vehicle shifts. The i... (more)
Historia
I used this vehicle to deliver pizzas for a short time in South Carolina, and I remember once I had four stops that I needed to do all in one trip. Thanks to this car, I was able to do all four and return to the store in 25 minutes! I can always rely on it to get me where I need to go quickly.
A Favor
The first feature I liked about the GLI was the appearance of it. The styling is of high quality, and although the GLI can be considered more of a compact car, it is very sporty and does tend to get some looks from pedestrians. The silver paint matches well with the machined alloy wheels. I also like that the vehicle is turbo charged. The boost is considerably noticeable when driving, and getting up to speed on the interstate is no problem. I like the fuel economy of the GLI, 30 MPG highway and around 21 city. The Fender sound system sounds amazing! It is six speakers plus a factory subwoo... (more)
En Contra
The interior of the GLI feels cheap. It features a lot of hard touch plastic on the doors and dash. The seats are quite uncomfortable and offers little cushion for the occupant. There is no back-up camera for this particular trim, which almost seems standard on most vehicles. In terms of performance, the GLI is a quick little car. However, the turbo does lag, and it feels inconsistent as to when the turbo actually kicks in.

The Jetta is one of my favorite cars I have ever owned. I love Volkswagen cars for their safety and German engineering. So many cars these days are made of fiberglass, but the Volkswagen cars are solid steel and very safe. The Jetta GLI bring the Volkswagen to a whole to level with it's sporty exterior and luxury interior. I love the red/black leatherette seats that come with the Autobahn model, as well as the GPS and Sunroof features. I think so far one of my favorite touches has been the stock rims, they really set the look of the car off! Coupled with the Fender audio system, this car is a dream for anyone who loves safe travel, sporty looks, and great sound from their stereo!

Simply driving down the highway, sunroof open, and my Fender audio system blasting... Pure bliss!
A Favor
My favorite features of the vehicle are the Safety features that come with any Volkswagen car. I will always own Volkswagen vehicles because of their high safety ratings and solid steel build. The German engineering is something that is definitely worth every penny!
En Contra
If I had to choose a negative, it would be a few minor things. First, the cost and unique maintenance needs that come with the Volkswagen are a bit of a pain. Always having to pay extra at the mechanic just because of the brand of your car does not make my wallet happy. Also, while I absolutely love the rims that come stock with the Autobahn model, the Dunlop tires that come stock are crap. I went through 8 tires in a little over a year! Every little bump or small pothole in the road caused the tires to bust and were unrepairable. At $300 a tire, that is very costly. Thankfully, you can ge... (more)
