The Expedition has a roomy interior with enough room to seat 8 easily. It is solidly built with many safety features built in. The height of the vehicle allows even short drivers to be able to see more of the road.
Pros
The 5.4 Triton engine is a serious power-house. The 4wd unit in 4 low is one of the strongest pulling 4wd that I have ever used. The front seats give plenty of room for tall people. The middle row of seats also has plenty of leg room. The rear air conditioning unit does a fantastic job cooling the rear compartment. Great for pulling a load. The truck is also built like a tank. The driver's seat has a programmable button to set the seat for two different drivers.
Cons
The gas mileage is pitiful. Only can get 12 MPG in the city and about 16 MPG on the road. The 5.4 Triton engine has a major problem with blowing the spark plugs out of their holes, resulting in high repair bills. Transmission began to slip at 100,000 miles. The electric door locks stopped working after a few years.

2010 Ford Expedition - I love it, I love it, I love it!!!!

I'm an antique-er and need a vehicle with lots of room but something enclosed not a standard truck. I had a Suburban but it just didn't have all the bells and whistles I was looking for. One thing it was very inconvenient when I had a piece of furniture to load I would have to remove the 3rd row seats. The main reason I purchased my Expedition was the convenience of the electric 3rd row seats that fold down and the automatic rear door opener. Once we test drove the vehicle it was no question that we wanted to purchase it, the ride was incredible and blew away the current SUV we had.
Story
We've just purchased the vehicle so I don't have any good stories yet but I can tell you that we have used this vehicle as a truck for a wedding, renovating a house and just everyday use. I can tell you that when we went to purchase some floor molding for our house, my husband did not want to put it on top, however the floor molding measured 12 feet long and I told him there's no way that is ... (more)
Pros
It was very nice to look at, sleek two-tone and just looked expensive. My favorite features are the 3rd row power seats, electric hatch back from key panel. The heated and cooled front row seats. The wonderful sound from 7 speakers which includes a woofer. The cleanliness of the leather seats.
Cons
The Expedition we purchased is an Eddie Bauer Edition, so in my mind I'm thinking that means fully loaded. Electric side mirrors, heated/cool passenger seats 2nd row, electric running board, sunroof, dvd player. However, even without these features, we are so pleased with this vehicle and wonder why we didn't have it before the Suburban
