Never again, Ford!
Overall, this car has been a huge disappointment. I purchased this car from my grandmother after my car at the time was totaled in a wreck. I was really happy, because it had low mileage (my grandmother was in her 80's so she didn't drive that often), and I purchased it for a very low price. I had driven a Ford Taurus in the past, so I was familiar with the car and figured it would be a good option in the interim. Boy was I wrong. I had the car less than a month before I started having major issues with the car. The first things I had to replace were typical. The tires were beginning to dry rot, and the brake pads were starting to make noise. No problem, I thought. Every can has to have maintenance done every once in awhile. I spent over 500 dollars replacing all 4 tires as well as the brake pads. All was well for a short time, until things in the interior started to fall apart. The leather trim inside began to fall off (I guess the glue was starting to wear off) so the interior of the car looked terrible. Then the drivers' side window started to leak. Then there was a leak under the dashboard. Since owning the car for about 4 years, I have replaced the transmission, the a/c pump, and 3 or 4 other parts, spending well over $5,000. This car is nothing but a money pit.

I like my sleeper
At first glance, not many would be interested in a station wagon these days. Once one gets past the outward appearance of the vehicle, the performance of the engine and the comfort of the ride will win them over. My wagon has a 3.0 liter dual overhead cam engine and has an impressive amount of torque and horsepower The interior is really very comfortable, even for larger drivers and passengers (I am 6 feet 5 inches and weigh just over 300 pounds.) As far as quality goes, I didn't expect much because I am not a Ford person...I normally tend to lean toward the GM vehicles, but in this particular case, I was able to purchase this vehicle with less than 90,000 miles and have had very few problems. Upon purchase, I changed the oil, changed the plugs and wires, and changed the air filter. Since that point, I haven't had any problems with it at all. I have now driven the car for 13 months and put over 26,000 miles on it. As for the questions of would I recommend this car to a friend or would I purchase this type of car again, I would say that I would, in fact, recommend this type of car to a friend, especially if they can get as good of a deal as I got with respect to mileage and price and condition. As far as myself, I would only purchase this type of car again if there were an even better deal than the last one I got. I have had this type of vehicle and would like to try something else in the future.
