The Ford Explorer is a wonderful family vehicle. It is roomy and practical without being too much. The price was a good value for all that you get, and I get compliments on it all the time. If I have had any mechanical problems, they were easy and cheap to take care of. It is a fairly common vehicle, so there is no problem finding a body shop/mechanic to hook you up with whatever you need. If I get the chance to own another one of these vehicles, I will jump on it. This is the first Ford I have ever owned, and I must say that I am impressed with its quality.
Story
My Ford Explorer has been awesome on the weekends when it comes time to take my family to the beach. Everybody fits in the front, and all of our beach gear fits very easily into the cargo area with room to spare. The interior is easy to just sweep out after we get home from our days at the beach.
Pros
The Ford Explorer is a nice looking vehicle that has useful qualities as well. It is very spacious inside, the passenger area and the cargo area. It is very easy to keep clean on the inside, and it is amazing on gas for an SUV. It has a 60/40 folding back seat, which has come in handy on a number of occasions. It also comes in handy that accessories such as seat covers and the like are readily available at most places that sell car accessories.
Cons
I had a few problems with rust on the body of the Explorer. Other than that, I have no complaints.

I really like this car, it has an optional third row, great for when I have extra kids with me, but I can also put it down, for when I need to haul groceries or luggage. Mine came with a trailer hitch and a luggage rack so that was a huge plus for family vacation. The color is wonderful, light hunter green and is a 4 x 4 so it really helps out during out long winters or off road camping trips.
Story
This past winter mine was one of the few cars that could make it out so I was the work taxi for people that needed to work but couldn't get out.
Pros
So many plus: Automatic door and window locks, built in car alarm and a 6 disk cd player. As well as the radio and thermostat controls on the wheel. Plus additional vent for each row and heated seats. Luggage rack and additional storage optional if not using the last row. Four wheel drive is awesome, especially if you live in a area with a lot of snow or like to go off road camping.
Cons
Gas mileage is a huge draw back, only about 14 mpg in town and at best 19 on interstate, and fill ups @2.50 A gallon run about 45 dollars a full tank. The drivers side window fell off track last winter and will not go back up. The only other issue I have had with it is the front wheel bearings seem to wear out rather quickly.

Alpha Motorsports is a great place to purchase a car, especially if you have bad credit like I did. I went through many dealerships before I found one that would help me out with bad credit financing.
