My F-150 has been very good to me. I bought mine 8 years ago. The color is a wine red with a glossy shine, which I never get tired of. The engine sounds great every time I start it. The build is very durable. I mow lawns as a side hustle in the summer. So that includes hauling trailers with heavy mowers. It has never shown any signs of slowing down even though it is a 2006 model. The interior is very durable. I have three kids and two German Shepherds, so you can imagine the stress that goes through these seats daily. The seats are made of leather which is a big plus, because when you mow lawns it can get very messy. My only complaint was the original paint job. I can not tell you how mad I was when the paint started peeling off like an orange after 2 years. But that was not the compan... (more)
Story
We had a fun cookout cook out in my neighborhood and I had to help get supplies to make a bonfire with my truck and it was a lot of fun.
Pros
Good engine. Nice steering. Great stereo. Nice frame.
Cons
Bad paint job. Had to replace radio. Had to get new rims.

My 1997 F-150 was an unexpected purchase; I was driving a sports car at the time, and with Ohio winters, it wasn't ideal. It was used (obviously), and even at 135k miles, it ran like the day it was put on the lot. I'm not unfamiliar with 'truck life,' as I'd owned several pickups and SUVs in the past. This one, however, with its extended cab, third door, and 8-foot bed, was among the largest of vehicles I'd driven on a regular basis. Luckily, it was also one of the few vehicles I'd owned with functional Air Conditioning. The extended cab was roomy, even if you didn't use the extended space, which is perfect for children or adults.
Story
As a lifetime Chevy owner, buying a Ford, though an enjoyable experience, wasn't a reputable one for me. Sadly, I spent more than one occasion jump starting or towing broken down Chevrolets with my F150.
Pros
The extra space in the cab, as well as in the bed, came in handy quite often. The air conditioning was fast and cool. Acceleration was surprising, for a vehicle that size. Handling was great on top of that, and despite the overall length of the truck, it was easy to maneuver in the city. Also comfortable on long trips.
Cons
Gas mileage was no better or worse than the car I was driving before - unfortunately, that car was a 1981 Camaro. Averaged 15mpg.

We selected this vehicle because of the need to be able to buy lumber and then take the finished product (furniture) to various shops. In the quest to find a good vehicle, we looked at several brands and also read reviews of vehicles in consumer journals. We were interested in a relatively plain and reliable truck. Twelve years after buying it, the truck is amazingly reliable. We have been faithful to it, providing it with regular oil changes and maintenance, and it has rewarded us by operating smoothly and consistently.
Story
We have stuffed this truck so many times with a delightful combination of lumber, third passengers (that is an advantage of the bench seat), and musical instruments--on occasion, all at once. It has helped us to make many wonderful memories.
Pros
This has the full 4x8 foot bed, which is great for hauling full sheets of plywood and also the occasional load of 12 foot boards. Considering the fact that this is not a crew or king cab, we can still get a banjo, guitar, and fiddle behind the seat when necessary. Pretty good storage! Very reliable and it handles well. In general, a truck places the driver up high where it's easy to see. We have occasionally overloaded it with wood and it has still forgiven us and hauled it. Power steering is really nice, especially when needing to parallel park on our street.
Cons
The bench seat means that when the short person drives, the tall person's knees are rammed up against the glove box. The bench seat is also not terribly adjustable, which can be problematic for a short-legged person. This is a full-sized truck that was designed to be driven by average to above-average sized people. A vehicle of this size does tend to use a lot of gas. On the other hand, the size of the truck makes our home business possible.

I liked this dealership because they had the truck I was looking for. They also did a trade-in on my old car, which had a recall on it.

I felt like I got very personal attention. They were willing to work with me on price once they knew that I had a pretty strict budget. They got me in the right car for the right price out the door. I got a great loan with a credit union for a very low rate.
