2006 Ford F-150 - Reliable truck.
My F-150 has been very good to me. I bought mine 8 years ago. The color is a wine red with a glossy shine, which I never get tired of. The engine sounds great every time I start it. The build is very durable. I mow lawns as a side hustle in the summer. So that includes hauling trailers with heavy mowers. It has never shown any signs of slowing down even though it is a 2006 model. The interior is very durable. I have three kids and two German Shepherds, so you can imagine the stress that goes through these seats daily. The seats are made of leather which is a big plus, because when you mow lawns it can get very messy. My only complaint was the original paint job. I can not tell you how mad I was when the paint started peeling off like an orange after 2 years. But that was not the compan... (more)
Story
We had a fun cookout cook out in my neighborhood and I had to help get supplies to make a bonfire with my truck and it was a lot of fun.
Pros
Good engine. Nice steering. Great stereo. Nice frame.
Cons
Bad paint job. Had to replace radio. Had to get new rims.
1997 Ford F-150 - Pleasantly Surprised
My 1997 F-150 was an unexpected purchase; I was driving a sports car at the time, and with Ohio winters, it wasn't ideal. It was used (obviously), and even at 135k miles, it ran like the day it was put on the lot. I'm not unfamiliar with 'truck life,' as I'd owned several pickups and SUVs in the past. This one, however, with its extended cab, third door, and 8-foot bed, was among the largest of vehicles I'd driven on a regular basis. Luckily, it was also one of the few vehicles I'd owned with functional Air Conditioning. The extended cab was roomy, even if you didn't use the extended space, which is perfect for children or adults.
Story
As a lifetime Chevy owner, buying a Ford, though an enjoyable experience, wasn't a reputable one for me. Sadly, I spent more than one occasion jump starting or towing broken down Chevrolets with my F150.
Pros
The extra space in the cab, as well as in the bed, came in handy quite often. The air conditioning was fast and cool. Acceleration was surprising, for a vehicle that size. Handling was great on top of that, and despite the overall length of the truck, it was easy to maneuver in the city. Also comfortable on long trips.
Cons
Gas mileage was no better or worse than the car I was driving before - unfortunately, that car was a 1981 Camaro. Averaged 15mpg.

2007 Ford F-150 - Germain Ford Columbus
I liked this dealership because they had the truck I was looking for. They also did a trade-in on my old car, which had a recall on it.
