I am honestly pretty tired of this car and I will certainly be looking for a new one soon. I bought it out of sheer desperation when my last vehicle broke down and was going to cost over $5000 to repair. I did not have much confidence that the car mechanics even found everything wrong with my vehicle so I decided to sell it and get a different car. When I found this car, it seemed like it would be the complete opposite of the vehicle I was getting rid of - it would be something positive for me, much more fuel efficient, inexpensive and a nice little car to drive around but it turned out to be none of that at all. The maintenance costs are beyond insane. I test drove it before purchase and the test drive went very well. I felt I was happy enough with the car and it seemed like it worked... (more)
Story
I haven't experienced anything fun in this car at all. It has really been more misery than anything. I think it's been the second worst car I've ever owned after the Dodge Neon I once had when I was younger. That car was the absolute worst.
Pros
I think the car is fairly decent as far as fuel efficiency goes. I feel like I don't have to fill up my gas tank all the time. The CD changer that came in my model of the car is nice also. It holds multiple CDs and is easy to switch between CDs and songs. Additional add-ons like satellite radio are standard in this car, which is convenient. The car contains USB chargers which is nice to charge phones, iPod and other USB devices. The glove box is a decent size. I think the vehicle is attractive enough, as are the leather seats. The heated seats function well during winter. They are very war... (more)
Cons
The maintenance costs have been too high for this car. It seemed like it could be a smart purchase and a good value when I was in the market for a car but it was not. Last year, I made many major repairs on this vehicle which were costly. This year, I have had to make quite a few repairs also which was extremely expensive. Now my car is stalling and quits on me while driving down the street. I have never had a vehicle do something like this. It is an accident waiting to happen. I do not know how much this is going to cost to repair but they say it will be $100 for another inspection which ... (more)

I think over all the car was a good purchase. It had low miles when I got it and only some minor cosmetic damage. There hasn't been much I've had to replace on it and definitely nothing in the major category I've done with it in the 10 years I've had it. I was bummed that there were so many body remakes after I purchased my Focus because that really made the resale value plummet. It is very light weight and has trouble in snow. Takes awhile to heat up when it is cold because it has a small engine in it. But that is good for gas mileage. I get just below 30 mile per gallon city and highway driving so that's pretty good for a 10-year-old car. I think I got a really good deal for the price I paid. I have had minor things happen here and there, but it is a ten-year-old car now. I have don... (more)
Story
Taking road trips back to college and visiting college friends in different states. Mine's been to about 14 different states so it travels well as long as you don't have too many people or too much stuff.
Pros
There aren't too many features that stick out as pros to me on this car. Most everything is pretty standard. I don't have really any add-ons. It's pretty much a base model. It gets really good gas mileage though. The engine is pretty efficient. It is light weight so while that might not be good in snow. It does have some get up and go for a little car. Still has pretty good pick up at 10 years old. Another positive of it being small is parallel parking is really easy!
Cons
Takes a long time to heat up when it's really cold outside. The air system is not the best. Windshield takes awhile to defrost in the winter. Air conditioning is not great in the summer. I prefer windows down anyway so it's not a big deal. Windows not so reliable when its cold outside either. I leave my child lock on. Backseat seats three but is very small. It has three over the shoulder seatbelts so that's nice.

The dealer answered all my questions and made sure that I was fully aware as to what kind of car it is and how much mileage it had on it. I was shown other cars but went with the ford focus since it matched what I needed.
