2010 Chevrolet Cobalt - Perfect little car
This car has been a wonderful little car for me for the past four years. I love how small it is. Although it is small, it has a lot of trunk space for the size. I love the way the steering wheel is set up.
Story
I thought I could not parallel park. I had this car for three years and never tried to do it. One day I was going to a family get together and the only way to park was on the street. I had to parallel park. I was panicking because I can't parallel park! I tried one time and my car was so easy to maneuver I regretted not trying this sooner! I could have saved so much time all those times I look... (more)
Pros
The engine is powerful! The interior is all leather! The heated seats are amazing during the winter! The car is durable! Easy to parallel park! Mirrors are perfect size and shape! The car goes on and on if you do basic maintenance! I love that the trunk opening button is hidden instead of exposed. The USB adapter charges amazingly! The stereo system is awesome for a car!
Cons
The steering wheel is a bit tighter than I prefer. The leg room behind my seat is very limited because of my height. There is a lot of blind spots. I hate the location of the emergency brake. If it were in a different location, I could use that area for some kind of storage.
2006 Chevrolet Cobalt - Love my Cobalt
I bought my Chevy Cobalt brand new off the lot. It is bright yellow which is a major head turner and gets tons of compliments. I have put 182k miles on it so far without any major repairs yet. It even still has the original clutch! It is a 5 speed and gets 34-38 mpg combined highway and city driving - excellent on gas. As soon as I got the car I bought some lowering springs and a cold air intake to make it handle/sound/perform better.
Story
Ever since I got the car it has always been my girlfriend and I's vacation car so we have lots of good memories traveling the country. Lots of scenic mountain drives all the way to driving along the beach at the ocean.
Pros
Amazing mileage and longevity. Has awesome looks and performs like a lot more expensive car. Has always been very reliable. Never broke down, never failed to start. And all I've done is minor maintenance and kept the oil changed every 5k miles. Speaking of which, I ran nothing in it but Mobil 1 full synthetic since the first oil change.
Cons
Paint has started to chip from all the rocks and road debris over the years. Tiny amount of rust on underside of doors. (It's a daily driver, even in the winter, and not garage kept) And now the head gasket seems to be leaking a bit causing it to use a bit of antifreeze.
