I liked that the car was a 99 model, those are my two lucky numbers. I dislike that my head gaskets are busted again after a rebuild. Hopefully I won't need new rings, or crank shaft. I really like the look, and body of this car, I really don't know why this make and model did not make it to the fast and the furious. It is a really comfortable car, it has a lot of room, and the body is pretty wide. I noticed noises coming from the engine mounts that are busted as well. It has been in and out of the shop, and we can not find a great rebuild mechanic who won't charge an arm and a leg. The car has over 200 thousand miles on it, always did the oil changes, and could rebuild the motor for about 2,200 says a local mechanic. I've had so much fun with this car, went on road trips to northern C... (more)
Story
Yes, the first time I drove to Lake Tahoe was in this car with my family. We had such a great time visiting friends and family of the 7th Day Adventist Church. I also met a lot of friends, and nice people who lived in that area. We got to drive all around the lake, and the lake looked so clear and blue, that we jumped right into it when we got there, it was really fun.
Pros
There are many pro's with this car. I could go down the list, but one thing that I liked for sure, I mean like I really liked for sure would be the v-6 motor. A lot of the of the old v6 motors were just one engine block and a lot of mechanics think that the v6 engine would not change over the years, however Japanese companies started making their own version of this v6 motor and it comes in 2 motor heads. The Pro's do that are each cylinder gets their own room to breath for a high efficiency. Another pro would be that is has an extra two cylinders compared to the 4 cylinder make they put o... (more)
Cons
There were also many cons just like every make and model from any company in the auto industry, these cars were all meant to break at some point, or something had to go wrong. Even race cars in Nascar need maintenance. Bolts, and screws sometimes don't hold for long due to high stress, not driving carefully, and always making wide end turns. This all put a lot stress on my engine mounts, and broke them. My suspension also went out and had to rebuilt that. One of the first cons about the car is that it comes stock and we all know that all the stock parts go bad. My Radiator busted. Another ... (more)

I've added about 30,000 miles to my car since I first got it over three years ago, and so far, I still enjoy zipping around in my little Focus. The car is tiny (I am 6' 3"), has no side airbags, and has minimal interior design. However, you pay for the engine in this car, not the interior or endless amount of useless features in today's vehicles. The 2.3 Duratec engine provides over 150 hp to the front wheels, and since the car only comes in a manual transmission, allows you to easily slip into the engines power band, and also allows you to keep the RPM's low to get better gas mileage. The car is not fast by any means, but it is quick. You can skirt through corners of backroads like a felon, as the front wheels screech for grip when you down shift into a sharp turn, or take off from ... (more)
Story
I was driving back from a town 3 hours away from home, I decided to get off the toll-road early and head through a mountain pass. It was mid-day, and the road was completely clear. I rolled the windows down, turned off the radio, and just let myself connect with the car as I manipulated the car's gearbox through the windy mountain roads for about 45 minutes. I could feel the car's high-end tor... (more)
Pros
Quick feeling car, 5-speed transmission, sliding moon roof, heated seats, aggressive stance (for a naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder powered car). Power everything. The interior is nothing fancy, but it fits the car's personality. Overall, the car is cheap, not super fancy, and decently quick, creating one of the better first car options for young teens looking to learn to drive a manual transmission, all while being able to keep the insurance down for their parents.
Cons
No side airbags, radio isn't loud, air conditioner is weak, clutch has always engaged rather low to the floor, MPG is low (18/21). Not a head turner by any means.

This car drives really well. I have packed it full, literally trunk and back seat so high that I can't even see out my rear view mirror. And then driven it through switchbacks through the mountains with high wind gusts, past huge trucks with a wind draw underneath their trucks. And this car, damn it holds the road even with these conditions and going 65mph. It's awesome. I've gone through 100 degree+ with the A/C and radio on and it hasn't overheated. It always starts right away and whenever I need an oil/filter change every 5,000 miles, the little orange "maintenance required" light comes on about 250 before I need to go in to the shop. This car is the perfect height and as someone who stands at 5'10," that's saying a lot for a compact, 4-door car. Oh did I mention the turn radius? I ... (more)
Story
Driving through the mountains, unable to see through my back windshield, with huge wind gusts and 18-wheelers (did I mention there was also a slight drizzle from the fog?) and getting almost knocked about by it. I was gripping the wheel really tight and afterwards I took a much needed break when I hit the Arizona border and filled up on their 30 cents cheaper gas.
Pros
One great thing about this vehicle is the amount of room. I mean I can fit four passengers comfortably, five if they're all really thin. There's also not a ton of cup holders. I know a lot of women, that's their main thing for cars but my main thing is less cupholders. I'm a simple person and I like a simple car; this car is very simple. It's got 2 cup holders in the front for drinks, and on the side door panel its got room for things like road maps, but also has a small indentation for a larger drink. But it's built in to the side panel so it doesn't take away room or add an stupid extra ... (more)
Cons
It didn't come with a cigarette lighter. Now I know that's not a big deal; I don't smoke, most people don't. But there's been an occasion where I've needed fire and couldn't get it, and that really sucked. Also, my car is white with beige interior. Not the most appealing. At all. I would prefer like grey, or black, or even dark blue or green but no, it's white with beige interior. I think they should never ever make those colors an option unless specifically pre-ordered and pre-paid. I don't like how, in order to check on things in the car, like the oil or other liquids, its at the bottom ... (more)
