I've only had my Focus for about 3 months now, upgrading from a 2005 Chevy cavalier. So far, I love it. It's spacious inside, has a really excellent and easy to navigate touch screen console. So far I have around 1500 miles on it and everything has been running smoothly. Fuel economy is average but not terrible so far.
Story
I drove my car to a hot air balloon festival and it was perfect for lugging around picnic supplies as well as making a nice place to watch fireworks from.
Pros
My favorite aspect of the car is it's fuel use meter which helps me better understand how different driving practices equal different fuel usages. Also, the blind spot mirrors are an absolute life saver (literally). I got the car in black and the paint job is beautiful. The whole car has a really nice presence on the road and seems luxury despite being so affordable.
Cons
The fuel economy itself could certainly be better. Also, the auto start control doesn't always work. Another issue I've had is with the console not telling me when the tire pressure on the car is low. I also think there could be better integration of the technology to help me better understand the car and how it works. The controls on the steering wheel and surrounding area are nice but can be very confusing and frustrating when I'm trying to pay attention to the road but keep pressing the wrong buttons.

This was my first brand new car, so it would be difficult for me to not love it. It is a great little car and gets fantastic gas mileage. I routinely get at least 34 miles to the gallon. When you drive as much as I do (60 mile commute, one way), this is a very important factor. I purchased the Focus with a sport package, so it also has a good look about it. I love the larger rims that the sport package comes with. I also really like the fact that the vehicle comes with the sync technology. This allows me to make and receive phone calls without actually having to pick up my phone. This is amazing because I was never one to use my phone while on the road. Therefore, being able to answer calls has been helpful, because I normally just would have let it go to voicemail. Something interesti... (more)
Story
My boyfriend drives a large extended cab Ford truck. As soon as he saw this vehicle, he had to drive it. This big man that is used to driving a big truck absolutely loved driving this little tiny car. On the way home from the dealership he took over my vehicle, cranked the tunes and took it home while I drove along in his truck. He loves the car now and drives it every opportunity that he gets.
Pros
The Sync technology is great because it allows you to use your phone right there from the steering wheel. I often people driving while talking on there phone, and you can immediately tell that they are a distracted driver. This feature allows you to maintain focus on the road as you should. I also really like the hatchback on this vehicle. At first, I was not sure I was going to like it because the hatchback space appeared much smaller than the trunks on the other vehicles. However, once I began using it, I have really enjoyed it. I also like that the back seats fold down so you have a bit... (more)
Cons
Ford has not yet worked out all of the kinks in the sync system. So while this is one of my favorite aspects of the car, I do not like that, once in a while, it does not work properly. I have, on occasion, made a phone call and not been able to hear the person on the other end. However, I think that this is something that will be fixed as Ford advances the technology. I'm also not really impressed with the digital display at the steering wheel. Generally, the information listed here, such as fuel consumption averages is not accurate. This information is there to help the driver, but I usua... (more)
