My 2004 F250 SD 6.0L power stroke has by far been the best vehicle I have owned in my life. I've always had either junk cars or small trucks and this Ford was the first vehicle I had that I actually love and take good care of. This truck has all the power you need when it comes to pulling campers and trailers. Many people have told me the 6.0L has a history of problems but I have over 175,000 miles on it and it still runs like the day I drove it off the lot. I didn't buy the truck new, I bought it with around 110,000 miles but throughout the 65,000 miles that I've put on it there really haven't been any problems to speak of other than normal wear and tare. Such as, oil changes, tires, filters, batteries, alternator, etc. The body is in great shape with minimal rust. Only rust I can fi... (more)
Story
I believe it was 2 years ago I went to a motocross track named Miles Mountain Motocross located in Elkland Pa. I didn't have a camper at the time or a tent so me and my dog both had to sleep in the back seat of the truck for 2 nights straight. I can honestly say that I actually did sleep well and the back seat had more room than I expected for me and my golden retriever.
Pros
The best part about this vehicle is that it has a crew cab which makes riding inside of it very comfortable especially if you have a family. I've only sat in the back seat a couple times but when you are back there it has more room than any other vehicle that I have ever been in and is very comfortable and plenty of leg room even with the front seats all the way towards the back. I've even had to sleep in the back seat and believe it or not it is quite comfortable and roomy in case of have to. This vehicle also has all the towing power you'll ever need in a truck when it comes to trailers ... (more)
Cons
The big negative about this vehicle is the fact that it likes to guzzle some diesel. This is common for this size of vehicle but at around 14 mpg, the diesel sure adds up and drains the wallet in a hurry. Another negative I would have to say is the cost of the tires. I seem to go through tires faster than normal even with a routine tire rotation and I don't do any purposefully burn outs but the tires don't seem to last as long as they should and at around $200 a pop, this cost sure adds up quick. I think another con which really doesn't bother me any, would be the looks of the interior on ... (more)

I purchased this truck because I wanted a vehicle to tow my car hauler and horse trailer. I got a bit spoiled to my friend's truck and ended up buying the exact same thing. The F250 Lariat has everything I could possibly need. The leather interior is comfy and easy to keep clean. The seat coolers are seriously (and literally) saving my butt in the Texas heat. I adore the back-up camera because now I can hook up my trailers by myself on the first try. The information screen in the dash makes checking fuel levels, diesel exhaust fluid, mileage, etc.; super easy to see on the go. The 6.7L diesel engine totes my trailers around like they weigh nothing. The engine brake option is a huge plus as well. The only thing I wish it got was better gas mileage, but for a truck this nice that does it... (more)
Story
Being able to navigate through roads that were a few inches under water during the Texas flooding.
Pros
Back-up camera, leather interior, multi-function in-dash computer, remote start, heated/cooled seats, 4 wheel drive
Cons
Hitch receiver doesn't fit will with extenders/ball adapters even with the reducer sleeve.

2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty - Good at carrying loads, towing. Poor gas mileage, poor in/out of 4x4 low.

The truck is sturdy and solid. I use it as a truck... hauling landscape material such as flagstone, gravel, etc, and for towing light and heavy loads (a couple of kayaks on a light trailer up to a couple of horses in a 2-horse slant). The horses I haul up a pretty steep grade for several miles. The 250 handles it admirably. I use it also to take hay up a short steep grade to the barn. The issue I have there is putting the truck into 4x4 low. I seem only to get to 4x4 high. There is much sand by the barn (I pull part way into a sand arena). On backing down and switching out of 4x4, I often get some lurching until the truck finds itself. On the topic of backing up... absolutely great mirrors on the F250. Great visibility all around. I have a granny step and handle in the tailgate to aid ... (more)
Story
Sure. I mentioned in the overview that my F250 went to prom. (The F250 is black and sharp looking when washed. We name our vehicles, and the truck is named JR (after Johnny Cash).) Anyway, another of my daughter's foursome was going to drive to prom, but the vehicle fell through, and JR came to the rescue. I took it through the carwash (with the 1/2 ton of gravel I still had in the bed) and sh... (more)
Pros
The granny step and handle in the tail gate. Towing and carrying capacity. Roomy and comfortable. Good headspace (I tend toward car sickness if roof is too close to my head or if windshield offers too little visibility). Great mirrors.
Cons
Poor gas mileage. Difficulty getting into 4x4 low. Lurching after coming out of 4x4 mode. Cumbersome to park in city!
