I love my Ford Expedition. I had previously owed a Ford Explorer and was looking for a larger vehicle when I purchased this one. I was nervous about getting such a large vehicle, but I was pleasantly surprised about the way it drove. I struggle to drive my husbands pickup truck but not the Expedition. I feel like I am driving a luxury car with the added bonus of tons of space. The Expedition has plenty of power ports and cup holders for everyone's drinks and charging their games or cell phones. My son plays travel baseball so I always feel like I am taking everything in my house for a weekend of baseball, but this vehicle holds it all and still has room so no one feels that they are sitting on top of each other. My vehicle now has over 100,000 and I have had absolutely no problems mech... (more)
Story
My favorite memory of taking my car out was on Black Friday a couple years ago. There were four of us that left about 6pm to go Christmas shopping. While we had fun shopping and bonding, it was clear by 4am that it was a good thing we took my Expedition as opposed to my friend Tahoe because the four of us and filled the back of the car almost completely up with shopping packages, and that was ... Pros
The things I love most about my Expedition are the Microsoft Sync system, adjustable pedals, folding third row and the middle of the second row moves forward toward the front of the vehicle. I have many songs on my IPhone and it is so easy to play my music using Bluetooth through the car's sound system or answer the telephone with out having to pickup the phone thanks to the Microsoft Sync system. I am short so having adjustable pedals was one of the key selling points for me. This feature allows me to move the gas and brake pedals towards me without having to be sitting on top of the stee... Cons
The only negative thing I can say about my car is that I wish the side mirrors were electro chromatic like the rear view mirror. When cars get behind me at night sometime the side view mirrors tend to reflect the light into my face making it hard to see.

The Ford Expedition is the "top dog" of all terrain SUVs. It has exceptional quality for the price. It handles like a well worn pair of jeans would fit. When I sit behind the wheel of this truck, I not only feel powerful behind this large vehicle, I also feel very comfortable. The height of the vehicle is one of the main reasons I feel comfortable because I have a greater field of vision and I can see what's coming up ahead that might cause a problem and prepare myself to overcome any obstacle with ease. The main reason I started looking for a large SUV is because I was looking for extra cabin space. The year I bought this vehicle, I had recently remarried and my new wife has 3 children. I instantly went from a single man with a Sporty little SUV to a family of five. The Ford Expeditio... (more)
Story
I will never forget the 29 hours we spent as a new family together in this vehicle. We ate, slept, sang, told stories and traveled the entire length of the Eastern Seacoast. The funniest thing about this trip was the french fry I found about a week ago that had survived the 3 years since the trip. The memories of this trip will be forever embedded in the very fabric of this vehicle, literally ... (more)
Pros
My top ten list for the Ford Expedition include, but are not restricted to the following: the engine power, the handling, the interior space, all the bells and whistles (power running boards, power moon roof, nav system, heated AND cooled seats, ability to connect my iPod to the stereo system).
Cons
Ok, here it is. It has terrible gas mileage but the way I look at it, "I pay to play". This vehicle is carrying a lot of weight on it's back. It is made with good old fashion AMERICAN STEEL. The air conditioning is adequate but not fabulous. Finally, it doesn't have any usb jacks that would bring it into the age of all new technology.

The 2002 Ford Expedition is the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Aside from routine maintenance, it operates worry-free. I have put over 140,000 miles on it and it remains rattle-free, handles well, and is very comfortable.
Story
My daughter and her family had to move back home for a while. To escape the crowding, my husband and I would take our beverages and sit in the Expedition, listening to music, until they went to bed.
Pros
I love the appearance of this vehicle. It's is very stylish and "tough looking" at the same time. The gas mileage is better than I expected. After 12 years and 140,000 miles, the all-leather interior is still in great shape. I am a volunteer dog-rescuer and with the third seat removed, it can easily hold 6 large dog crates. The exterior still looks great. The paint has not dulled over the years and the trim is still in great condition - no weathering or cracking.
Cons
The mechanism that automatically opens the sunroof failed shortly after I bought it. The mechanic at the dealership said it would cost about $1,000 to repair it because all of the roof interior would have to be removed. I decided to not have it repaired. It's not a huge problem to manually uncover the sunroof, but it is disappointing that it failed so soon. Be prepared to purchase high-quality tires for the 2002 Expedition. Cheap tires make it feel as if you are driving on a mattress.
