The Ford Expedition is the "top dog" of all terrain SUVs. It has exceptional quality for the price. It handles like a well worn pair of jeans would fit. When I sit behind the wheel of this truck, I not only feel powerful behind this large vehicle, I also feel very comfortable. The height of the vehicle is one of the main reasons I feel comfortable because I have a greater field of vision and I can see what's coming up ahead that might cause a problem and prepare myself to overcome any obstacle with ease. The main reason I started looking for a large SUV is because I was looking for extra cabin space. The year I bought this vehicle, I had recently remarried and my new wife has 3 children. I instantly went from a single man with a Sporty little SUV to a family of five. The Ford Expeditio... (more)
Story
I will never forget the 29 hours we spent as a new family together in this vehicle. We ate, slept, sang, told stories and traveled the entire length of the Eastern Seacoast. The funniest thing about this trip was the french fry I found about a week ago that had survived the 3 years since the trip. The memories of this trip will be forever embedded in the very fabric of this vehicle, literally ... (more)
Pros
My top ten list for the Ford Expedition include, but are not restricted to the following: the engine power, the handling, the interior space, all the bells and whistles (power running boards, power moon roof, nav system, heated AND cooled seats, ability to connect my iPod to the stereo system).
Cons
Ok, here it is. It has terrible gas mileage but the way I look at it, "I pay to play". This vehicle is carrying a lot of weight on it's back. It is made with good old fashion AMERICAN STEEL. The air conditioning is adequate but not fabulous. Finally, it doesn't have any usb jacks that would bring it into the age of all new technology.

I've owned the Ford Expedition for nearly ten years now. The vehicle has literally been the best truck I've ever owned. It has an awesome body in that it's extremely roomy on the interior but easy to navigate down narrow roads. I've literally never had a problem with this car during my ownership and to date. The road performance with proper tires, of course, is second to none. The Expedition doesn't give a lot of road feedback while you're in the car, and the systems are easy to use while paying attention to the road. I have 127K miles on this truck which has driven across country five times!
Story
Recently took the truck on a 17-hour trip to Nashville. Kids were in the middle row (car seat included) and had TV while awake making for a nice quiet ride! Husband slept in the third row comfortably while I drove, and we swapped as needed.
Pros
Space! This truck has a massive amount of space! Three rows and the back row folds down to a huge trunk space. Sound system/DVD: I have the version that has a full sound system and DVD player which, with kids, makes it a dream. The DVD player is built into the ceiling and can be controlled by the front panel or on the DVD player itself. The screen folds back up into the ceiling for easy storage. The sound system itself is like Dolby surround sound! Performance: This truck has literally gone across the U.S. five times and done so without one hiccup. With the space in the back, it's helped m... (more)
Cons
There are only three negatives about this car: Running boards -- which is also a positive. They went through a winter that was particularly brutal and had issues folding out and folding in. Cost of repairs/maintenance: Be prepared to pay given the size of the car...tires, parts, etc. will all cost more than a smaller vehicle. Parking: Parking this truck in a city is challenging and also will cost more than usual in a parking lot.
