The overall amount of space in the Expedition EL is incredible. With all seats up, the rear cargo area is still plenty adequate for general use, and once the 3rd row is folded down there is a huge amount of space while maintaining seating for 5. With the 2nd row folded, there is just over 8ft of length available up to 52" wide. I have been amazed by just how much I can fit inside this vehicle. In addition to cargo, the seating in all rows is actually comfortable. The 3rd row is not just for kids like a lot of vehicles. At 6'4", I can sit in the 3rd row and my knees lightly touch the 2nd seat. The vehicle also has respectable towing capabilities. It really combines the best of both worlds between a 1/2 ton pick up truck and a van, while still being stylish and comfortable. While mileage in city driving is not particularly great, on an extended highway trip recently, I got 18mpg, which I was quite pleased with.
