I drive a Ford Taurus wagon. I purchased the car to fit my growing sons, they are all over 6 feet tall and need lots of leg room. The Taurus has great leg room and a wide interior to accommodate people and cargo. The second seat back is divided into two sections so the car can be modified to hold various sized cargo. The ride of the car is very smooth and, as far as performance goes, is exceptional. The only major part that I have had to replace is the transmission which for a 12 year old car makes it very dependable and economic.
Story
We have a local ice cream store and on occassion we like to go as a family. That is not a problem with the wagon as a rule but we like to bring my 2 dogs with us. That means my car has to carry me at 5 feet, my three sons at 6 feet 2 inches and 2 german shepherds around 100 pounds each. When we pull in and get out at the ice cream stand I always feel we look like a modern clown car. We do like... (more)
Pros
My favorite features are the ability to modify the interior space. This allows me to use the wagon for a variety of home projects. The dependability of the car has been excellent. I have had no major problems with the wagon and it is my most dependable vehicle. The interior is very comfortable for both me at 5 feet and my sons who are over 6 feet 2. The fuel economy is very good for a wagon. I can put in $10.00 a week and have plenty to last. The style of the rear and side windows is awesome and I have no problem seeing all around the car while inside.
Cons
I have had a lot of problems with the exterior paint. The paint on the tailgate started to bubble and then peel. Now the whole tailgate under the window is paintless.

My husband and I bought our Taurus new from the dealer when we became grandparents for the first time. We had had a van while our own children were younger and had retired it once they were in high school to a sporty utility truck that we both drove. I wasn't working so we really weren't a two vehicle family. But when my daughter became pregnant we knew we were going to be very hands on and active with our grandchild. We purchased the vehicle in December with the grandbaby due in February. It had everything we wanted. When we were all out and about it was just my husband and I and the grandbaby. We didn't need anything big but we did need something big enough for a car seat and to be comfortable for us all. The car provided a smooth ride, which is essential when traveling with an infa... Story
We took a family vacation with the two grandchildren to North Carolina. My grandson, at the time was 2, and had a fascination with balls, as do most boys at that age. Somewhere in TN he noticed balls in the power lines (I still don't know what they were. And he started screaming for papaw to stop the car and get the balls for him. We laughed but he was serious. We finally had to pull the car o... (more)
Pros
Small, but not crampy small. The air worked awesome in the summer and the heat worked maybe too great. I liked the everything about the car.
Cons
The only con I would give it was that with my granddaughters infant car seat even with the front seat pulled all the way forward using the base with the car seat was a bit difficult.

I drive a Ford Taurus. It's a V6 and has a ton of kick to it. It has auto locks, power windows, nice radio and speakers and definitely has been reliable. Overall, I would say it has been a good car for me to do my daily running around- and I have a lot of running around, being a mother of three children! The car on the inside is super spacious- the back seat could easily fit three large people and the trunk is HUGE. The seats in the back will go down so I can fit bulky items in the trunk and slide them in the back seat, which is a blessing for when I go garage-saleing. A draw back to the car is how it eats gas. This is the first American car I have ever owned and I do notice a huge difference in the gas mileage I get. It's not super ideal for city driving but highway driving is almost... (more)
Pros
I love the V6 engine of this car. I also love how roomy it is in the backseat as well as the trunk. There is A LOT of room in this vehicle.
Cons
It's a gas guzzler. It eats up a lot of gas, which with the price of gas lately is a huge draw-back.
