My 1999 Ford Taurus is one of the most reliable cars I have owned. It is a tiny car with great adjustable seats. I am short and the seat allows me to move it forward and backwards, and up and down. There is also an adjustable lumbar option on the seat for your back. I like that the car sits low because it makes it cozy and makes it harder for the sun to hurt your eyes. Driving the car feels pretty smooth until you reach 80-90 miles per hour. There really is not a reason to be going that fast so it is not a big deal. The handling of the car itself is also very smooth and simple. It does not rattle and the air conditioning unit is amazing and works incredibly fast. This car is a great starter car for any college student like myself because it is reliable and easy to manage.
Story
I enjoyed driving down the highway and driving smoothly with the windows down in the evening.
Pros
My favorite features on the Taurus are definitely the adjustable seating and lumbar option for ones back. If you are short like I am it means so much that I can move my seat up and down and closer to the steering wheel. The Steering Wheel is also adjustable and it has a pretty good range of motion. The other pro is the heating/ AC unit. The car heats up almost instantly which is great for the Winter time when it gets colder. The AC is also powerful and works wonderfully. I like that the car sits a little low so that light does not get in as much too. The car itself is very spacious and has... (more)
Cons
The only negative aspects of the car itself is the rattling of the wheel and entire front part of the car when I go anything above 75 miles per hour. This is not a big deal because that is not the speed limit anywhere, but I have noticed at times when I am on the highway and maybe going down a hill that it rattles a bit. The gas mileage is not that great if you drive a lot. Over the summer I drove about 200 miles every week and had to fill up the tank completely almost each time whereas with my previous car I did not. The radio is also very outdated and has not AUX chord. Over all good car.

I bought this vehicle as a sophomore in high school (7 years ago) from my friend's grandmother. Since I purchased it, I've had little to no problems with it. The car is functional, and has a large trunk. I'm able to fit almost anything I need to into the trunk, and one of the seats in the back go down to extend the trunk. Additionally, it has a 6th seat in the front in between the driver and passenger. The break pads seem to wear off quickly, and the gas mileage is OK. I have never been involved in an accident, and if I did I feel I would be safe. The one thing I dislike about the car is that it doesn't look sporty. It looks like an older individuals car based on the frame and overall shape. The inside of the car is also pretty dated, it doesn't have too many additions or perks. Seats ... (more)
Story
I used my car and it's large trunk to transport a lawn mower to and from my relatives house when I would mow it in the summer. Which is a testament to it's versatility and ability to transport some unique things for a smaller car.
Pros
I liked how it was an American car which made repairs (the few that I made) pretty cheap. Additionally, I like that it has a lot of space and also had the ability to fit a 6th passenger in the front. The trunk is very large and allows me to fit almost anything I need to in it. The gas mileage has been good and the car allows me to accelerate pretty quickly.
Cons
The overall look is certainly a negative. The car isn't very sporty or sleek looking compared to most of the models that are out there today. I also dislike the interior of the car, it looks old and doesn't have many places in the front to store things such as money, wallet, phone, etc. The break pads wore out very fast.

I am first off impressed with the dependability of this car. I used to drive the same model, but two years older, that would constantly have problems. So far I only have had issues with my current car related to a gas cap. The check engine light on this car is a little touchy. I think the gas efficiency of the car is mediocre. It can vary between 24 MPG and around 28 MPG. The cold weather of this winter has had an appreciable effect on the mileage. One good thing is that the heater works really well. It gets warm after about 6 minutes and gets the whole car warm quickly. The inside of the car is nothing special. It is roomy and the seats are sort of cozy. The looks of the design and layout are rather bland. It does have an extra fold-out seat in the front for a total of 6 seats. I have... (more)
Story
I locked my keys in the car and I only had one working key fob. I had a spare set of keys but the locks don't work well. I had to oil up the keys and force the key to turn. It took about 20 minutes of effort.
Pros
I like how common it is, heat works well, reliable, spacious, side lights
Cons
Ugly, gas cap issues, check engine light issues, mediocre gas consumption, poor turning radius
